  • blah blah blah fuck right wingers. couldnt u see how ass backwards u people are. Want us to go back too the 50's where white, right, conservative might ruled day. Too fucking bad.lol With minorities on the rise its only matter of time, when even your vote won't matter. You simply won't have the votes to win anything. Do the math. Nancy pelosi for president. B-) But right after Obama wins a second term.lol Fuck you right wingers. I'll show u a tea bag to suck on.lol

  • @darkdsm1 in the 1950's we had the most powerful economy in the world. now that minorities are getting into politics we are becoming a 3rd world nation. look at california...hell it might as well be bolivia or mexico...a dump! 43thousand people have been killed in mexico over the last few years by drug cartels..mexico is a failed state. thats wht will happen here if we dont take this country back from these idiots.

  • Abortion stops a beating heart .

  • You say I am pushing my morals on you? you are darn skippy I am! I have the right to do so. You people keep pushing your lack of morals on us and think that because the ACLU has taken your side and political correctness has raised its ugly head in America that we as God fearing Christians and others who see this lifestyle as what it is (un-natural) have to give in to you. let me tell you this; we have not yet begun to fight. But it is comming. Count on that!

  • well thatcher88, I fought, my father fought and my brother fought in the service of this great country of ours. Free speech is part of what we cherish in the USA. I will say whatever I feel is right and just.

  • You are free to say whatever you want. However, you do not have the right to decide or think for me by making laws which invade my personal life. Homosexuality in no way harms or even impacts your life, and therefore the claim that we gay people are pushing our morals on you is ridiculous and unfounded. Exactly what American laws have substantially limited your freedoms? What gives you the moral authority to decide who I choose to love, marry, or any other matter relating to personal affairs?

  • Gays

  • did this fool say she was a devout catholic. That would be impossible in light of her stance on abortion.

  • Abstinence-only education isn't the problem. It's the sex-saturated media that's promoting teens having sex all the time. If the FCC would do their job, abstinence-only would have a much higher success rate.

  • I often see a huge double standard with guns and abstinence education. Sure, abstinence only education may be slightly optimistic, because kids will go out there and have sex and then they won't know what they're doing. But what about with guns... Sure, you can ban guns, but people are going to get guns anyways, then either a) gun owners won't know how to use them or b) non gun owners won't be able to defend themselves. It seems that Pelosi rails against one form of optimism but not another.

  • Pelosi is a moron.

  • A well educated moron at that.

  • Since the sexual revolution, adults have helped kids make less healthy choices about sex and their emotional well being. Instead of supporting human dignity they tell them to use condoms and do whatever they want. How many abortions since 1973, all while liberals have been saying, "Go on the pill! Use condoms!" What has happened? Morally naive children growing up to be morally bankrupt adults with STD's and illegitimate children. Why do 1/4 of teenage girls have an STD? It ain't abstinence!

  • Public schools shouldn't give advice on when on when it is best to engage in sex, and how abstinence is the best form of birth control. We should just hand out candy flavored condoms to high schoolers.

  • People who say that teens are just going to have sex are basically saying that humans are no better than animals. There are millions of people who wait till marraige to have sex. They date and have normal lives, they just have will power and respect for themselves. Society is just rotten now.

Why is it so hot and why am I in this handbasket?

  • larn33, Abstinence is the best prevention of aids, stds etc. Thats what teens need to know. Because some will still have sex out of wedlock, doesn't mean we cater to them. They know its wrong. They get pregnant, then they have a baby to deal with. We do not want to pay for the mistakes of others, they're not ours. No one comes to you and says larn33, let me pay for your mistakes. No lessons are learned from them.

  • I'm not saying that abstinence isn't the most effective way to avoid STDs and unintended pregnancy. However, it's horribly dangerous and naive of people to think that teens won't have sex. Just saying NO SEX has created 1 in 4 teenage girls having an STD. We have ignorant teens having sex and "paying the price" because of these programs. We can both promote abstinence as well as educate them on the facts - which these abstinence-only programs aren't doing. PS: having sex isn't wrong.

  • sex, young sir, is intended to be between a husband and his wife. would there be such a problem with std in this world if we didn't act like animals?

  • That's possibly the funniest thing I've ever read. You're kidding, right? That's something that should only be said in sarcasm.

  • i weep for mankind

  • larn33.

I hope that the rest of your days are filled with love, peace & disease.

  • Luckily for me, I'm pro-choice, which means I'm properly educated about preventing STDs.

  • Luckily for you, your parents weren't pro-choice, which means you are alive today because they made a concious decision not to abort.

  • Actually, my parents are staunchly pro-choice. My parents made a conscious decision to have a child when they were ready. Before that, they used *gasp* contraception.

  • I am glad that they they are in favor of pro-life - namely yours.

Lets consider the economics of sex. If it is so readily available then it cant be that precious. And if it aint that precious then men/women who give it freely cant possibly have much value on the purpose of sex - that is to bring forth life. And if bringing forth life is not that valuable then life itself is not valuable. And if your life is not of value to another then it makes it easy to disregard and even remove it.

  • Nothing wrong with a married couple using contraception.

  • What about hepatitis? Or HPV? Diseases that there's no protection against. There's vaccines for them, but most of the time it's too late. They are also much deadlier than AIDS; the leading cause of cervical cancer in women is from hepatitis. Speaking of which, it's sad that the sex education I had in high school focused mainly on AIDS every year and not on the STDs that there's no protection against, are more common, and are deadlier.

No wonder STD transmission has risen over 243 since 1998.

  • Correction: 243%

  • Good thing for you your mom was pro-life.

  • No, she made a choice to have children, unlike the millions of women you have indoctrinated by pro life pressure.

  • That's right, good thing for you she made that choice!

  • But all women should have the right to choose...why should your morals choose for them, why aren't the women who's body it actually is entitled to apply their equally valid morals and make a decision for themselves?

  • You mean the right to murder? And it's not just "YOUR" body. There's someone else inside of there as well. What about their rights? Who will speak for them? And your mom COULD have aborted you if she wanted. And my mom COULD have aborted me. That doesn't make it right by any means.

  • How can you force a woman to go through childbirth? If you don't allow abortion, won't an adamant woman just get an unsafe abortion that will harm or even kill her and most certainly destroy the possible life? A woman doesn't need the permission of others to abort part of her body- the scientific community have determined a safe period in which to abort and a period when the developing fetus will not be conscious or in. You can't 'murder' a developing fetus; murder extends to a developed human.

  • Are you saying that a one-year old is a developed human?? How come that it counts as murder if the child is out of the womb for only ten minutes? Why isn't it murder 10 minutes BEFORE the abortion? Shouldn't then a woman be allowed to dispose of a child after birth if she wishes? Why isn't that allowed? After all, it came from "HER" body, right? Like those who tryed to defend slavery in the 1850's, you are on the wrong side of history. The CHILD's rights must be protected as well.

  • But unborn children aren't killed 10 minutes before abortion. Embryos are aborted usually one or two trimesters after conception. They have no awareness of their abortion. And don't compare this to slavery, there is no similarity, particularly when your the conservative.

  • I Most certainly WILL compare this to slavery. There is a time to be liberal and a time to be conservative. And in case you aren't aware, there is a thing called "partial birth-abortion". And this does compare to slavery. Both are horrid evils. Scientific studies have shown that the child does feel pain based on reactions. And who are you to say they have no awareness? Would you say that a six month old would not have any awareness if it was killed?

  • It seems that people such as yourself wish to be liberal in all areas even if it is wrong. You reject balance in favor of Far-Left Radicalism. You shun one evil while you defend another. You speak of the person inside as if it were some organ. When in fact, you yourself were once in that stage. I question whether it would've been ok with you if you yourself had been aborted. Why don't you try looking through the child's eyes for once and realize they are being punished for nothing they did.

  • I am not liberal. The majority of the scientific community have accepted that it neither causes pain to the potential life nor harms the mother. The majority of social and family planning workers find abortion to be the inevitable choice of the mother, and they can hope only that she does it safely. With the majority of qualified scientists, and qualified social workers, who defends abortion? Few, often left field scientists, a minority of social workers and a surplus of unqualified moralists.

  • @thatcher88 this is not the same as slavery. it is worse! it should be compared to the holocuast. you are just like those bastards that pushed women, children, men into the ovens...because they didnt want them .

the stork doesnt bring babies, we all know how they are created. if you dont want or cant afford kids then simply do not have sex. it would seem that your "right" to have sex is ir more important than the human life it creates. you are hitler

  • @usaf317 Oh my, you've brought me back to this conversation that's now two years old! So because I support a woman's choice, I am the equivalent of a furnace stacker at Auschwitz? Does that really make me, as you put it, Adolf Hitler? The simple reality is that the vast bulk of scientific evidence and scientific bodies differentiate clearly between a developed baby and an undeveloped baby. On this basis alone you argument is specious and actually, downright incorrect.

  • That doesn't mean abortion is necessarily the 'right choice'- what it means is that there is ambiguity as to what human life is. To somebody accepting the scientific argument, abortion is usually an acceptable practice. The opposite is the case for the religious conservative. However, because there are two options, there is a choice. Just as the scientific view should never be forced on a woman, neither should your religious or moral views. A woman is intelligent enough to make her decision.

  • You seem to forget the practical implications of banning abortion. It would lead to more unsafe, backyard abortions which kill women. You are free to look at abortion and come to your own moral conclusions. However, for good and valid reasons, not everybody accepts your opinion, and you don't have a right to force it or your morality on them = because you think you are right. Criminalizing abortion will kill far more human life, this time, mature, breathing humans.

  • @thatcher88 thats the same lie over and over. a baby is just as much a human being as a "mature, breathing adult." the fact remains that people need to take personal responsibility for their actions. with the exception of rape, pregnancy is 100% avoidable. 100%!!!

  • @usaf317 You are simply making a claim without evidence. That is called a baseless claim. I have referred generally to the majority of scientific evidence and the scientists who support my view. The view that an undeveloped human is not the equivalent to a human baby is the broad consensus view. The onus is on you to prove your point with credible science and scientific opinion.

  • Unwanted pregnancy is only 100% avoidable in a world of perfect people. As that will never exist, unwanted pregnancy will always be a part of humanity. It is guaranteed that people make mistakes, and while pregnant women should take personal responsibility, they should also have the freedom to choose what side of the debate impacts their bodies.

  • By saying pregnancy is 100% avoidable you deliberately ignore the question of women being forced into unsafe, backyard abortions. You ignore the fact that banning abortion would actually maim and kill more women, and not reduce abortion. What happens to these women? How do you force a woman to have a baby, and what do you do with a horrified vulnerable woman, having just experienced a brutal maiming of her genitials- throw her in jail? Is this some sort of perverse punishment for her 'crime'?

  • @thatcher88 how are they force? does someone put a gun to their head? if you dont want to have kids then dont have sex. how difficult is that? its not. its so much easier for you to butcher a baby rather than face your own personal responsibility.

  • But abortion has always existed. You misunderstand me. How do you force a pregnant woman to have a baby? I live in the real world where human beings are flawed and are not perfect- they make mistakes, there are unwanted pregnancies. However, it is also a fact that banning abortion would not reduce the number of abortions- yet it would kill more women. Please answer this: do you want to jail a vulnerable woman, having just experienced a brutal maiming of her genitals from a backyard abortion.

  • @thatcher88 i dont misunderstand you. give it a rest. i gave you my answer asking me the same question over and over is not going to get you the answer you want to hear.

  • @usaf317 You did misunderstand me. You have not actually answered whether you would jail a woman, or how you would stop backyard abortions, or admitted that backyard abortions kill women and abort just as many babies. The 'pro-life' activists are usually so vocal and repetitive with their rhetoric- but if you can't answer these questions, you really don't know your own argument.

  • @thatcher88 you let us figure it out for ourselves here in America.

  • @usaf317 I'm afraid the supreme court has already done that for you. It is a near impossibility that Roe V Wade will be overruled. If you are so confident that your argument is correct, why can't you answer the questions I ask?

  • @thatcher88 i gave you my answer. asking me over and over hoping to get the answer you aprove of is rather childish. leave America to its citizens. worry about your own nation.

  • @usaf317 I am not trying to dictate your answer, I am simply trying to get an answer that addresses the question. The only answer you have given is that 'it's their responsibility'. I have asked further questions. The people who are first to say abortion is an international issue are the 'pro lifers' as they would surely oppose abortion wherever it occurs? Obviously, I have asked some difficult questions, and you don't understand your own views enough to adequately answer them.

  • @thatcher88 dont tell me what i do or do not understand. yes, i oppose abortion no matter where it takes place but what can i really do in naitons other than my own. but yes i oppose it. exicute people who perform illegal abortions. yes i understand that would be killing. now enough with you. worry about your own country.

  • @usaf317 Isn't somewhat ironic to support the execution of people who perform abortions? Even so, do you want to execute a woman who performs an abortion on herself?

  • @thatcher88 no it's not ironic. it is one thing to murder a baby and quite another to exicute a criminal. here in America we still exicute people that commit murder.

you and i are done. i dont care to communicate with crazy people.

  • Call me crazy, but I don't think it's right to execute a vulnerable woman who has maimed herself having just experienced a brutal cutting of her genitals from a backyard abortion. Tell me, will a woman be executed if she stops a pregnancy in the zygote, which consists of a single cell? Strange, I thought the pro-life movement cared about 'the victims of abortion'. Now I am assured that their ranks consist of the truly mad who want to execute even pro-life 'abortion victims' who support them.

  • @thatcher88 like i said you are crazy. i didnt say exicute the woman having an illegal abortion. you did. again...dont have sex if you dont want a child...its a very simple matter.

  • Don't impose your morals on others- the reality is sex occurs outside marriage, so who says that is not 'intended to be'- only the majority.

  • You are so out of date on your information that it is frightening. Uganda is no success tory. Le's go back to the original debate: For the sake of argument let's say that abstinence ONLY - which is what we're talking about here is the best thing since sliced bread; to fund it at the same levels as a full family planning program is comparing apples to organges - one is a clinical delivery system of screening and contraceptives and the other is an education program. Abstinence only is foolish

  • The proportion of Ugandans infected with HIV went from 21% in 1991 to 6% in 2002. To prevent the spread of HIV Uganda devised a practical campaign called ABC (Abstain, or Be Faithful, or use Condoms as a last resort. Now, Africa's foremost AIDS prevention expert - the co-chair of Uganda's AIDS-prevention Committee, Rev. Sam L. Ruteikara stated, under the powerful influence of Western "advisors," the ABC program is being abandoned and AIDS rates are once again climbing.

  • She is so gross.

  • Pelosi is the one who is catering to the political far left. Claiming she is a "devout Catholic" is wrong, wrong, wrong. More like a lapsed Catholic.

  • Actually there are a lot of pro-choice Catholics out there. So, in your opinion, perhaps, she is 'lapsed,' but to her and thousands of others, her pro-choice and Catholic values work quite well together.

  • Pelosi is wrong on the Gospel of Condoms Only. For all the "I am a devout Catholic" and "Our Father who art in heaven's" and "Mia Culpa, Mia Culpa, Mia Maximus Culpa," she may utter, that abstinence doesn't work and should not be funded runs 100% in total contradiction to Catholic Doctrine and Biblical truth and common LOGIC.

  • No, Pelosi said that abstinence-only EDUCATION was harmful to youth. And she's correct. Abstinence-only programs not only fail to actually educate teens about contraception and stopping the spread of STDs - some actually teach lies and falsehoods. Now THAT is harmful to youth.

  • Where to start!!!! She did say abstinence was harmful to youth. That's the bigger problem.

We need to talk to our kids more on not having sex and going to school and to be good citizens not contraception and abortion.

  • - abstinence is dangerous?

    - political considerations?

wow you are stupid. really really stupid.

  • Abstinence is responsible behavior.

  • Abstinence works! Enough said. Don't push your believes on me.

  • Thats right girl!

  • Bravo for David Obey. He has my vote. Abstinence is the truth, condoms are the lie. Anyone who asserts otherwise has two new critics: Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization.

  • Giving couples the option of abstinence only and telling them that barrier methods and forms of birth control don't work ignores reality at best and is criminal at worse. Further, more than 60% of high school seniors have had sex - while we might all wish that they delay sex we must deal with reality. The CDC agrees that condoms are a must in this day of HIV/AIDS.

  • In answer to lwjdith's statement concerning HIV/AIDS and abstinence. Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that there would be no world pandemic of HIV/AIDS except for certain parts of Africa. One place in Africa AIDS is not expected to turn pandemic is Uganda , a nation that heavily adopted abstinence programs, educated their people, and saw dramatic results. They realized that AIDS was a communicable disease and behavior driven.

  • brings to mind the book and the movie war of the worlds. even those little biological nuisances have a purpose.
