The lens appears to have a bit of a warp to it, almost like a weak fisheye effect. The image also has a bit of a shake to it, which would lead me to believe that there is a problem with image processing.
@VeryHugeAss - That is what we call barrel distortion. It is common with a cheap zoom. Since the NIkon 1 system is new, that is all there is for now. It is correctable using software but my purpose is to show the camera and lens quality as is.
@optimusp517 - It is a different compromise. This is much smaller put also shoots better video if you want autofocus. DSLRs can autofocus during video but they are all quite slow at it and have to move the lens back and forth to lock which is disturbing. On the other hand a modern DSLRs wins hands-down for photo quality and choice of lenses (only 4 are available for this one for now).
Anyone else wondering if that guy caught his bus?
