Thanks for giving us these videos of this concert. This pairing of Shearing and Torme was indeed special. Mel Torme was a musician's singer. I always thought he sings like a good trombone or tenor sax player would play. Both these men are now gone. I pray the the younger musicians will value their talent. Music seems to have gotten away from lyricism and harmony in the 21st century. Yet these standards live on.
At 5:20 they start singing 'Little Willie Leaps', based on the chord structure of 'All God's Children'; the tune is listed as Charlie Parker's, but I surmise it was written by Miles Davis.
What a 4 piece!!!!!....it sounds like a10 piece to me....The bass player is the most junior player, but he doesn't hold back.. Of course that's why he's playing with them...nice one young blond bass player....it's Donny Obsorne on drums....
Thank you, Thank you... I felt like I went to a concert tonight--and I actually saw Mel live once. Seeing something new is a treat. Again, my heart-felt gratitude for sharing this.

Unfortunately, for all of his talent and fame, personally, he's a rude pr**k! What a shame. I know first hand.

@TheJsimone I'll be honest, you sound a little like the pr**k here

Mel's laid-back timing is just perfect, only Sinatra was a good - Torme is such a musician's singer. Sensational. Love it. M
