It's odd... Liking a song long before knowing what the lyrics mean, singing it to someone you care about and only then figuring out what the lyrics are and how well they convey your feelings.

@2Orion0I1am2 He's good, but he always disbands when you enter an area he usually is in. I think his class always switches back to BARD, making him less flexible. Also he can't be part of the "Elore's Trials" quest.. that quest has several restrictions... after you finish it, you won't be able to get the Minstrel back to your team.
But the authors of the game themselves made it clear that he's not meant to be in the final battle... he has no lines during it.
I loved the minstral. Something about him... LOL his voice in this part doesn't match him in the rest of the game however. But this was a good song. I wish the battle music hadn't been so repetitive for all the little battles you HAVE to do.vv(0
Did you go through an area battling all the creatures or did you run through it really quick? Truuust me. Some of those themes got old reaaal quick. And most of the battle themes for regular areas were the same, sometimes with a little different element mixed in. It's not so much the repetitive ness of the music itself... its how much you HAVE to hear it.
Granted, I've only played through with Albert so far... but the only thing that gave him any trouble was Saruin, which yeah, I had to go stat-up for. Were you taking the time to change martial arts and weapon modes? I know I was getting my butt handed to me until I realized that having defense mode on weapons helps.
Eeeh... I'm not sure what you're talking about but it's been a little while since I stuck in my disk and switched the cords out to play PS2... perhaps I should take a look?
Oh yeah, and maybe you were having trouble since you were taking the time to stat-up everywhere. One of the best things about the SaGa series is that enemies get stronger as your party does. RS seems to take that even further. It's actually EASIER if you go through and do quests quickly while avoiding random battles.

I just love this song and animation. Espcially the little details like how the minstrel mutes the strings with his hand and even finger picks a few times. Awesome!

I love Unlimited Saga, and that game has actually peaked an intrest in Minstrel song a little. MS was confussing, but I'm sure I would enjoy it if I knew a little about the system.

Everyone complains that JRPG's are too linear but when the Romancing SaGa "free scenerio" system was introduced...people still complained. I think this is a wonderful game and has great replay value.
i'm not sure why but this game has gotten several bad ratings because of the battle system and the gameplay. i didn't like the fact the game was e 10. I'm sorry,it's just when you see and hear an intro like this,you really do expect more out of it than e10.
It wasn't bat, just unconventional. If you're a real SaGa fan, you'd enjoy it anyway. Just because it's not like your regular RPG doesn't mean it sucks.
good point. it's nice to have some different RPG's for once. whenever games make a uniqe battle system they get bashed to no end. it's sad how some games don't get a chance becuse they tryed something new.
The graphics are nice, you have a wide array of characters, the bg music is good, each character has different backgrounds which effect some of the quest, there are 3 ending quests, the battle system is easy,and the voice-overs are good.
It's kind of repetative though, and some quests they give at low levels are riddiculously hard. The boss battle is a little annoying, but that's the point in most SquareEnix games.
One of the absolute best games ever made.
