@monk22yrs Tarantino got his inspiration from discredited Italian B-movies and after pulp fiction was a success he always tried to revitalize it. And no its not plagerism, the concepts from those 60's and 70's movies came from the movies before them, and those movies the pulp magazines before them. Today its not as much original stories as it is original story telling, which in pulp fiction happens to be superb
@DrCrazyCake qt's whole career is a rip-off, though he calls them "homage".
resevior dogs a rip off of a chinese movie, with scenes ripped off from clockwork orange, among others....the slow-mo walking during the credits taken from slow-motion walking in cloclwork.
the rape scene in pulp fiction ripped off from the rape scene of delivernce, with some of 2000 maniacs also included. and there was a 70s movie already called pulp, with michael caine as a pulp fiction writer.
@monk22yrs Are you joking? Can you please give me the name of the chinese movie? Slow-mo scenes have been used in countless movies, you can't just call THIS ONE a rip-off. And also we were not talking about Resevoir Dogs. Secondly, are you talking about the "Squeal like a pig" scene? The only thing REMOTELY CONNECTED between them is the fact that one of the rapers has a shotgun. Would you call this a rip-off of Shawshank Redemption to? Pulp is a word in a dictionary. Nobody has lone rights on it
'who do you think you're fooling' right here on youtube, re the chinese movie; youtube doesnt allow links.
The less you know of 60s/70s eurotrash or drive-in movies, the more you can like qt...just like if you never saw the outer limits tv show you can love the terminator from james cameron.
is it ok with you that i set up a new youtube id, with the name drCrazeeCakes, since you dont have that copyrighted, and you dont have rights to it?
@monk22yrs I don't need a link, just a name. It doesn't matter if I have seen older versions of different things, I can still like them as much. Also, you're calling everything remotely connected to something a rip-off. Using one slow-motion scene in the begining of a movie that reminds you of some other movie is not the same as taking ones name and changing it so slightly. And plus, DrCrazyCake isn't a sentence in a dictionary. This reminds me of the Bethesda vs Mojang lawsuit.
@monk22yrs This is what I call a rip-off, /watch?v=r2c1ptxw3uU (Wow that was hard) The part about changing your name to drCrazeeCakes may be the same priciple but it still dependes on how much you steal from another person. I remember as I child I used to paint pictures in kidergarten. When somebody then stole my idea but changed it I got really mad. Is this how you feel? Because I have grown away from that. There's a difference between taking insperation and stealing an idea.
@monk22yrs No. He takes tropes and ideas from low-brow movie genres like blaxsploitation and other grindhouse movies here and there, and turns them into stories with tension and meaning and something worth watching.
Look at it this way, do you think QT's movie's good? If yes, then why are you complaining? If no, then why should it matter?
Fair enough, Quentin, I can see where you are coming from. Except you left out the part that inspired you to include a scene in which a policeman bondage rapes a mobster whilst a gimp is tied up in the other room and a hillbilly watches and wanks himself off.
@esmozg Why? Video games are just as good of a art form as film. The only difference is that it's more time consuming to create a good game with deep mechanics, good narrative, immersion, storytelling, and requires much greater technology.
@Muggizz the best example for that my good sir is the metal gear solid series , half of the game you have wonderfully crafted cutscenes . It has it all story , characters , plot twists , atmosphere , good scripts , good voice actors and even good and fun gameplay . It's a masterpiece , and this one truly shows that video games are a great medium for laying out a PLOT just like in a movie . If you dont know the game just google them I suggest going through them in order as you wont udnerstand it
The only bit that I never bought was Tarantino(Jimmie) going apeshit against Jules.
He was confused, but angry, but scared. And he's supposed to be all-over the place, but then he talks back like he's completely focused. I don't know.
Well, there a reason Tarantino's usually a director rather than an actor.
he is a talented director but I think hes a racist, every film there is a nigger rant and most of the time its unnecessary and nothing to do with the plot
@RhaegarTargaryen1884 He's not racist. He uses the word to establish how his characters talk and act. He can use the word however he wants. It's not like he makes a point of making black people in his movies suffer. Honestly I believe that people shouldn't use the word, but that doesn't stop people from using it. Even so, I'm pretty sure it's racist that a person CANT use the word becuse they're white. Besides I heard one of his upcoming films is going to be about a black slave.
@jbunit2007 Call me sensitive, but im not swearing. He also loves Denzel Washington who walked off set because of the racial content. Tarantino is one of my favourite directors but you can't deny he shows signs of racism.
@RhaegarTargaryen1884 He's not racist; he's real. And the reality is, a majority or cocky ass white men are racist pricks. Therefore he'd be doing an injustice to that character to leave something so simple out because it hurts peoples feelings.
@jbunit2007 I do not think a white man would ever say "did you notice the sign outside my house that said dead nigger storage" to a black gangster. I do not find that realistic at all. Im white im not racist.
@RhaegarTargaryen1884 back in that time they did, it was alot diffrent when this was set, also they are good friends , im white and ive said nigger in front of black dudes twice as big as me, but they wouldnt get mad cause we were friends
@MishMajic he makes movies about violent and racist characters. HES not necessarily racist himself. besides, he has written so many fully developed black characters.
@Pravoizavlijesvijeta Wow!....real intelligent response there. Are you on your period or something? Is it that time of the month already for you? Heh, moron. When I want a stupid response I'll ASK for one, m'kay? Now, piss off ;)
@playadominical His movies ARE him. His movies is why he's famous. You can't just take away his movies. If you did that, he'd be a TOTALLY different person, and maybe not appearing as a 'douchebag' to you. I think this is a case of everyone loves him so you don't.
@CK3890 I like his movies (pulp fiction and reservoir dogs in any case), but I find him in interviews to be really obnoxious. I was being silly calling him a douche, but I also meant what I said. On the other hand, what you are saying makes no sense to me. After all, you can make that claim for any artist, that he IS his art. So in other words, according to you, if you like the art, you must like the man. I see this as a pretty narrow way of appreciating art.
@playadominical Are you retarded? You think I was saying that you should like him because you like his art? I was saying that IF he never made his movies, THEN he would be most likely an entirely different person and probably wouldn't appear so arrogant. But is it really arrogance when he's speaking of his own work? Of course he's going to be proud of his work. What accomplished ANYTHING doesn't take pride in what they do?
@CK3890 "if he never made his movies, he would be a different person".... yeah no shit. i guess in your mind that was some kind of deep thought. i kind of like his movies, and i like he is a big douche. if this concept is too complex for you, there's not much point in explaining myself. just go back to drooling on your keyboard.
oh, and get off the guy's dick why don't you. he doesn't need some sycophant to defend his obnoxious ass (google sycophant so you know what i think of you)
@playadominical Yeah no shit. Wow. This coming from the guy who said 'take away his movies and what do you have left?' In my mind it was an elementary thought that any non-retarded person could come up with. You obviously did not and that is why I asked you about your mental handicap.
Get off his dick? I don't get it. I asked a non-contextual question. I didn't say HIS arrogance is warranted, I said anyones' is when they're talking about their own work. Who isn't proud of their own work?
@playadominical And do you really think I care what you think about me? Or Tarentino for that matter? I was just trying to help you understand that you can't take away his movies and then analyze him. He IS his movies. He's not famous for anything else. If he hadn't made his movies, he more than likely wouldn't appear as a douchebag to you. Get it yet?
@playadominical What the fuck are you talking about? You sound like a judgmental ass. I LOVE Tarantino's films...but I don't know shit about him. I've seen a few of his interviews and I just never really thought twice about if he seemed douchey or not because, well...who cares? I don't know if I like him, because I have never met him. You can't really judge a person you don't know. Honestly, why are you guys arguing about this? It doesn't fucking matter.
@kurtywurty85 you idiots really need to get over it. i come here and make a comment about Tarantino being a douche and I get flamed by a bunch of sycophants. seriously, you people are like a cult.
@playadominical Wow. You say that he's in need of a "vicious beating" and then you don't even tell us why you feel that way. "Oh he seems like a douche." I'd hate to see what you'd do to someone you actually consider an enemy. You'd probably disembowel them and hang them by their innards. If you don't like him, you don't like him. It's not a big deal. You don't need to resort to calling us idiots. Clearly you're just bored and you wanted to stir some shit up, well...at least you had fun.
@kurtywurty85 "You'd probably disembowel them and hang them by their innards" Really, that's stupid. What's wrong with you? If you didn't like my comment you didn't need to chime in with this idiocy. Stick to watching Buffy you moron.
@playadominical Hahah I say something semi gross and that makes me an idiot? Alright. Stick to making assumptions about people you don't know, it seems to really be working for you. It's not even that I didn't like your comment, I was just genuinely curious as to why he needs a beating haha and then when I saw your other comments I was like "geeze what the fuck?" You seem to get worked up pretty easily.
He's changed his story about this a few times. First he wrote it together with Roger Avry. Then Avry said that Tarantino basically stole all his ideas from him, and that he couldn't hang out with him anymore. And now Tarantino is taking full credit for it?
GENIUS i was watching pulp fiction with my dad (we have seen all of his movies) and it was the scene with john travolta an uma thurman with a 5$ milk shake and we all know that scene has a lot of talking for irrelevant things that has nothing to do with the plot of the movie , and i turn to my dad and say "have you noticed that they talk about ordinary things that you and me talk BUT we are so focused and we are waiting for the whole conversation?" my dad turns with a wierd look and says "true
@SergeantBagel he´s Italian like me! Hehehehehe! I live in Greece now but my last name is Pappalardo that has Pappa= Greek name, (kinda) adopted by Greek imigrants in the south of Italy! So Greeks and Italians can´t talk tied or in handcuffs! hahahahahahah! \O/
@casmatt1 omfg slow, in the scene Samuel L Jackson says: "What isn't a country i've heard of, do they speak english in What?" And the guy keeps saying "what" over and over again, have YOU ever seen the movie?
Its interesting that Q Tarantino refrenced Raymond Chandler, because Chandler gets into pretty dark territories. I was actually wondering how He came up with that shit!
If this guy had made a movie like Pulp Fiction before the 1950's he'd have been hanged from the nearest lamp post.

just like you wrote---he takes ideas from...
those low brows came up with the ORIGONAL ideas, and still dont get the RESPECT they deserve.
jack hill pam grier movies are better than qt's pam grier movie, with jack hill's movies dealing with racism, which qt's movie didnt.
back in the 1960s there were lots of james bond rip-offs, which is what qt's career amounts to.
i find the origonal 60s/70s grindhouse/drive-in movies more meaningful.

@kurtywurty85 read your last comment again and ask yourself if it seems intelligent to you.

@playadominical It's over. I know you like to argue, I do too haha...but it's over.
kurtywurty85 7 months ago
@kurtywurty85 "You'd probably disembowel them and hang them by their innards" Really, that's stupid. What's wrong with you? If you didn't like my comment you didn't need to chime in with this idiocy. Stick to watching Buffy you moron.
playadominical 7 months ago
@playadominical Hahah I say something semi gross and that makes me an idiot? Alright. Stick to making assumptions about people you don't know, it seems to really be working for you. It's not even that I didn't like your comment, I was just genuinely curious as to why he needs a beating haha and then when I saw your other comments I was like "geeze what the fuck?" You seem to get worked up pretty easily.
kurtywurty85 7 months ago
