The movie was okay, on the one hand I felt as though casting was near-perfect, but it deserved a better script.

To reiterate, Judge Dredd was never going to be a masterpiece - but I think the black humour present in the books would've benefited it greatly. Also, I'd have rather seen Dredd tackle a gang and make the whole thing like an OTT satire of 80's cop movies like Lethal Weapon.

The other thing is Dredd taking off his helmet, I understand that non-fans won't care, but it pissed me off att

I still like this movie for a few reasons. It introduced me to the character of Dredd, It introduced me to 2000ad and to great artists like Bisley and Sharp, It's also nice because some ealy JD storys in 2000ad were drawn by guys like Brian Bolland ^^
