amazeing....i cant draw to save my life.....i used to b able to draw horses but that was it...and even that i stopped 2 years ago and i cant seem to pick it bac up.....i juss drew John Travolta as Danny from Grease....it came out pretty good but we used those grid drawing things...how do u get all the porportions rite?? i had to keep fixing my john travolta one cuz his face was too small for his hair, lol

thats crazy man, im a senior in highschool and im in an advanced placement art class and i kinda do stuff like that but man your good. did you lay down a sketch first? if now how on earth did you get everything proportional on the first go? if i started with the hat id prolly get only half of franks face on the page XD

well I go to UW-Stout and I am a graphic design major....

Impressive. I am not fortunate enough to have an art class at my high school, and there are no schools around here. I can draw farely well, but really want to reach the level that you are on, and I would need to good to some sort of school for that.

thanks for the comment. Actually I have a lil secret that I think might result in me keeping the page clean. I try to work left to right top to bottom, due to the fact that I am right handed. And also when I am erasing, or just looking at my drawing I keep a kneaded eraser in my hand and 'clean' my hands that way, so I do it unknowingly I think.....

vine charcoal, and compressed charcoal

what is the different between Vine and compressed charcoal?

compressed charcoal is very very dark, it is used to get deep rich blacks

vine on the other hand is softer, easier to erase thus making it easier to work with

well there is a local store PENCO that i get most of my supplies, and I would assume that any arts and craft store (like Michaels) would have some. Otherwise the web would be good....I have heard Dick Blick is good, but I have never personally gone there.
