  • Oh yea, Heard that sounds before. Thanks to you I know what it is now. Plus I didnt know Amtrac box cars was used on other rails. Thanks again

  • Thanks buddy, I see an Amtrac car every so often but not a lot

  • I hear that sound on @ Least one car per train on average Great Video..

  • it is easy to recognize Thanks

  • Car 41 is the one!

  • Thanks, I appreciate you input. You would be amazed how often it happens.

  • Most of the wheels sound messed up! Like they had "flat spots"on the surface of the wheels. No wonder there are so many derailments!!

  • Thanks for watching

  • @RerailMe No, that sound is just the wheels hitting the small seam where 2 pieces of track are connected. :)

  • @moonlightradiorain I think he is refering to the plam plam plam plam plam constant sounds some of those bogies are making.. some bogies are louder than others like if the wheels had flat spots on them. If it were the seam where the 2 rail joins...it would sound more like plam plam..plam plam...silence...plam plam..plam plam....sllence....plam plam..plam plam and it would be every time it hit the seam.

  • I realy dont know exactly just a guess, but sometimes listening to them on the raidio give me help to locate them

  • Great video. Lets hope the train made it to its destination in one piece! *****

  • Thanks for watching, That wheel has most likely been replaced by now

  • Maybe it was the 41st thanks for watching

  • Wow, it was worth waiting for this train. It almost never ended. Will take it as an example for a lonnnnnnnnng train. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank You very much it was fairly longggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

  • Great video. That bearing sound is not very comforting. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for the compliment. The noise isnt actually from the bearing, it is from the backing ring that keeps the rear grease seals in place however. Its loose and spinning around the axle.

  • @pwalpar Question for you on that sir..That's obviously not going to trigger a defect detector unless the seals sling out and the wheel starts heating up?

  • They dont get too conserned about them LOL But its something that can be very expensive to ignore

  • Awesome video 5*****

  • Thank You Guido :)

  • Awesome Video.5* Thanks for sharing.

  • Such A Familiar Sound.......

  • Oh Yea, I suspect you encountered it before LOL

  • some days i have bad days there are few trains other days there are a lot

  • AWESOEM SHOT! 5 stars and a fav!

  • Thanks Nathan

  • To check a bearing to see if it was overheating we often held out hand on it. Except the glowing red ones that is, LOL

  • Nice video, I saw one like that at night once. The wheel was glowing a dull red.

  • good one.the grey boxcar had the loose backing ring.they should get it fixed.

  • I agree. Thanks for watching it David

  • Good stuff.

yes the wheel is very noisy

  • They will quit ignoring it when the wheel over heats LOL
