  • AWESOME

  • i would not recommend jumping into the water with a helmet on it can snap your neck. it acts like a parachute when u submerge in water and a sudden stop can kill u. allot of soldiers died that way in ww2.

  • @dk038967 Not with canyoning helmets, they are ultra light weight and designed for that, see the holes in the sides?

  • don't do that ever again with a fluke, just give it to me if you don't like it ;).

  • Drive over it with a steamroller. If that doesn't crack the case nothing will. But because steamrollers are not easy to find, try rolling over it with your car!

  • This man is sponsored by Fluke.

  • @cyklopek11 What makes you think that? No, I am not sponsored by Fluke, they just gave me the product to review any way I wanted.

  • man thats great, they should make smartphones that way lol

  • @Intosia They do. Casio GzOne Commando C771. Although sand and water won't get in, not enough light gets out in the desert. You can't see the screen in bright sunlight. I did use it to take pictures and make phone calls from a dam, but didn't drop it over the dam.

  • no replys!

  • how to destroy your multimeter

    1. go to the cn tower in toronto

    2.drop the multimeter from top

  • @bulby130 I bet the Fluke will survive at terminal velocity so doesn't mater how high you drop it lol

  • how about 100m

  • 14:52 "How the hell do I kill this, what I do?" Just apply 12V to the battery input.

  • Hey Dave I just bought the Ryobi (Tek 4) multimeter. It seems pretty good. Can you test it out and let me know what you think about it.

  • @RTEK4 Given that your username is RTEK4, I smell something rotten...

  • beautiful location

  • So mo ftw, great video!

  • This should be a fluke ad! A test mythbusters would be proud of

  • Dave. $430 meter and you want to destroy it for hits on your videos.

    lame.

  • @Thetruthishere11 No, this is genius!

  • if i were in australia i would gold exploring.

    is that thing waterproof?

  • how much cost it meter ?100$++

  • If you look at one frame at 11:58, it says F28 in the mV mode. Fault code?

  • @Gameboygenius probably means Fluke 28, because the Fluke 117 says F117.

  • A great show of toughness. In the review of cheap multimeters you could repeat some of the same tests and see how they survive. Also, you can try some overvoltage tests and see what breaks or leaks to simulate electrical stresses.

  • That's amazing. You crack me up man.

  • This is the best review yet!

I'd love to know if it works after replacing the LCD and inductor.

  • How much is the fee that a fluke paid for all this?

  • bet you chuck norris could break it

  • Oh my, what a multi!

  • LOL, great vid.

  • Quit playing around!

  • Fluke thinks this is AWESOME. Well done, Dave!

  • Fluke 28 II - Worlds Best Multimeter

  • wow shocked, bet a tank could drive over it

  • Now this is a product review

  • I shall be putting that on the forum! Classic!

  • Can't believe it still works haha! Quality viewing mate!

  • Please tell us you got that meter back in working order!

  • "ROAD?! Where Fluke meters go, we don't NEED roads!"

  • I will not sleep this nigth...

I want a Fluke 28 but now I haven't $500 to buy it :( and you just screwed it up.

    I'm very sad...

  • Dave, you're a dag, albeit a funny, entertaining and adventurous one!

Thumbs up & thumps down to you.

  • Wow. That meter is indestructible. Have you soldered a new inductor and changed out the LCD after the 30m drop? That's awesome.

  • This is why I no longer purchase Fluke products. They're just way too fragile.

  • EEVblog Rules.................¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • Great review, Dave! I've never seen such an extreme review!

One thing puzzles me.... why would anyone want to measure voltage and currents of electrical/electronic devices in a very wet environment - I don't exactly want to poke around a 415V 3-phase supply box under a waterfall!!! LOL!

  • Wow, I was expecting a bucket... but a canyon?! A car drop?!!

That's how a review must be done. 5 Stars!

  • hehehe, you are great xD

  • Dropping things on the floor wearing only flipflops? Health and safety does not approve!

Also, a meter like that surely deserves a waterproof manual to go with it. How do Fluke expect you to measure at the bottom of a canyon if you can't look up a setting you've forgotten?

  • Wowsers! Are you going to replace the LCD and inductor again to see if she runs?

  • wow awesome, now lets do the agilent multimeter

  • Haha !!! Thumbs up!!

  • EEVblog #67 - Death and destruction of Dave

in this episode we throw dave of the dam to see if it breaks him.

  • Err, I have thrown myself off that dam actually, I survived!

  • well played. lol.

  • really nice test, the meter is unbreakable

  • Dave this is entertaining , but a little bit extreme. When you said you where gonna do some crazy drops for the fluke, i didnt expect this. You like to adventure and I would of never thought you do that stuff, thats great maybe you should do more blogs on your adventures, it looks dangerous so keep safe.

  • I can no longer sleep at night...fix it, please...

  • awesome! I couldn't help but cringe at the 100m drops.

Now if only I had a phone that could survive a 2 foot drop...

  • WOW

  • The car at 8:35 was quite unexpected, wow!

  • hilarious
