ruf is good, but get real people, supras are the queens. no good tuned supra can loose easily,especially to porsches. i'm not a hater, but haven't seen many tuned porsches win gsxr's and hayabusas, unlike the supras.

The Supra has about 600+ hp. Ruf 650 kit is written as 650, but owners have dynod their Ruf´s and got about 715+ hp. So, the Ruf numbers are a bit underestimated...

None of those mean anything, the weight might have a little factory, but when you're running a turbo that big with all of that extra down force from the kit/wing/etc (yes the kit helps a great deal), they're pretty evenly matched. For all we know that motor could have been freshly rebuilt... Age is just a number.
Well a Supra pretty much nowadays goes for the same price as a 996 TT. A 996TT only needs 5k to run 10s. A supra with its old age needs alot more then that. The cheapest I have seen for a Supra was $25k in good condition and the 996TT was like $35k. Pretty close in price.

Also, supra is not the only big boy from Japan, the skyline can compete too (when modified, but Ruf is not a stock 911 either)... just check out JUN auto for some crazy cars, there is a vid of their skyline...just search 'JUN skyline'...it was daily driver capable just like Ruf
I was just musing, if that Porsche is 650hp then the Supra is running way less.
Supra is slightly lighter (1510kg) and has more power to the driven wheels (less transmission loss) so if they were the same power (650) then the supra should really have been pulling away and quite a bit of an edge. Looks like the supe was more like 580 or so.
you dont know what you're talking about. Supra makes less torque than a 911. Ruf Turbo R isn't AWD so there isn't the "transmission loss" that you speak of. and add to that Ruf Turbo R = much lighter than standard 911 in all areas. that gives the ruf the weight advantage and the torque advantage at the same HP as the supra.
Well I just went and looked it up being nosey, and the 996 turbo R (RUF) is 4 wheel drive. Did RUF rip out the 4x4 system that is built into the 996 turbo?? I dont really think they would bother, and what about torque, bhp is top end, torque is in gear accelleration. Torque does not necessarily mean more accelleration - what about gearing! :O)

Also, supra is not the only big boy from Japan, the skyline can compete too (when modified, but Ruf is not a stock 911 either)... just check out JUN auto for some crazy cars, there is a vid of their skyline...just search 'JUN skyline'...it was daily driver capable just like Ruf

I was just musing, if that Porsche is 650hp then the Supra is running way less.
Supra is slightly lighter (1510kg) and has more power to the driven wheels (less transmission loss) so if they were the same power (650) then the supra should really have been pulling away and quite a bit of an edge. Looks like the supe was more like 580 or so.

you dont know what you're talking about. Supra makes less torque than a 911. Ruf Turbo R isn't AWD so there isn't the "transmission loss" that you speak of. and add to that Ruf Turbo R = much lighter than standard 911 in all areas. that gives the ruf the weight advantage and the torque advantage at the same HP as the supra.

Well I just went and looked it up being nosey, and the 996 turbo R (RUF) is 4 wheel drive. Did RUF rip out the 4x4 system that is built into the 996 turbo?? I dont really think they would bother, and what about torque, bhp is top end, torque is in gear accelleration. Torque does not necessarily mean more accelleration - what about gearing! :O)
Maybe you should read up on your 996 turbo R's by RUF before you pass comment too!!!
The 993 turbo R is the RWD version you say, and this is a 996!

you're right, unlike previous turbo R's, the 996 turbo R only comes awd. however everything else you said is still wrong. the porsche still makes more torque per hp than the supra and is still significantly lighter than the supra, even with awd. now about porsche's gearing, I'm not gonna educate you on that, you should look it up. its only been winning awards since 1948.

you only show races between exclusive cars and a supra that had problems with the hood, and didn't go clean at all.. i and many others now that a supra with between 650-750 first of all DON'T GET EATEN BY M6!..

The Silversupra was fatser than the Kelleners M6, but we never managed to arace to say 275-300 km/h, which was sad since we think the Kelleners Sport M6 would have a good interval there. But the Supra was raped bu the Ruf R Turbo 650 in every speed :D

ssonosk is right, the supra guy was shifting like horse manure. That's what I hate about the gtboard and the m6board... they show races that involve either a guy who's purposefully losing by shifting like **** or just doesn't know how to drive.

This is NOT a 650HP Supra. Did you know the race was RESTRICTED TO *PUMP* GAS? That means the Supra is pushing 18,19PSI at best.
Try this race again with C16 and 35PSI boost, and we'll see how "well" that Porsche does.

I doubt if M6Board would lie about it. Though you do pose a valid statement on the race gas. But the Supra to me would seem to have around that much hp. Maybe not to the wheels so something more like 574 whp/or 650 hp at the crank since I know the Porsche only puts out lke 580 something to the wheels.

this driver of this supra is to slow changes gears , in first , the 2 gear in red line for .8 mili second to 3 and the ruf have advantage for this error of the drive of the supra but the supra have the power to take the ruf . defynity.
