  • hahaha good video. And i agree with what a couple of yall said. I was also surprised to see the food receivers to be like homeless and stuff, not adults living in such a nice house and all. But haha, that's just me. BTW i am working with them soon! can't wait. "service before self" XD

  • This video absolutely disgusted me! I am a college student bartending for a living and I myself can afford to make it on my own! If these are the type of people that are going to be eating my donations I'm not going to donate. Lol nah i probably still will but think of it differently-in a negative way

  • The first impression I got from watching this video is the same as mickelquinn's. I expected the food recipient to be some homeless guy living under a bridge. Who takes care of those people? I'm actually shocked to hear that four adults working minimum wage can't afford to eat. They're living in a nicer house than mine by the way. Could they be buying food instead of paying expensive rent? Someone that understands this better than I do please explain the situation.

  • I've volunteered with food recovery in the warehouse for over 6 months and this is the best depiction of the entire "food chain" that I've heard or seen. Great overview of the entire process. Don't worry--there are lots of people who don't "look hungry". Households with four adults, all working at minimum wage jobs, would still not earn living wage in Austin. We are not here to judge their choices, but to help them when they need it.

  • This is a great video which I showed to my 4-year-old daughter who collected food for her birthday instead of gifts last week. She is excited to bring the boxes of food to the Bank now that she understands where it goes.

  • mickelguinn misses the point that able bodied adults can have two jobs in Austin and STILL not make enough money to put food on the table. Austin needs a living wage so people like those in the video can feed themselves on what they earn.

  • this would of been a good video on following the food from donation to recipiant except... it should of portrayed a needy family not a kitchen with 300.0o mixer

on the counter and an all adult dinner party i would hope what appeared to be 4 abled bodied adults would not need the services of the food bank

  • This is a great place to work!
