CD is always known as the ORIGINAL. WHen he sings live, he improvise it a little. Plus, he's singing the song without the other guy. So he is kinda singing at a different tone. But live music usually sound different than studio recorded music.

Not really hard. Just sing above your comfortable range. Start climbing from the range you can sing without strain; once you hear a crack in your voice or start to feel a little strain, you've reached your falsetto range.

Fei yu qing (at least in the video I saw) sounds like he doesn't know what the song's about. Jay may have worse vocal technique, but he sings with more intensity and emotion. Jay sounds like he understands the song at a deeper level (he should, he wrote the music) and after hearing this song many many times, that's what I appreciate more than virtuosic vocal technique.

Search YouTube for 'jay chou faraway'. The first video says Jay wrote the music (i.e. he arranged all the music for the song, including the melody) and Vincent Fang wrote the lyrics (i.e. he wrote a poem).

My point (in previous post) was that Jay has a better understanding of the song than Fei Yu Qing because Jay has put more work into making the song, and thus Jay ends up with the better (artistic) interpretation of the song.

to change from Faraway to Hair like Snow, it is necessary to make Hair like Snow a bit higher so the two songs can be combined together (you can try it on a piano to prove it). So PLEASE, stop calling him lame just because he started singing a different song at the middle of a performance (it was purposely planned...) or his voice has to change a bit to adapt to the transition.
