Ya I saw it too and just was heart broken especially for those who really knew him especially his dad they were so close he will really be lost without him, I know we as a country shouldn't have such a hardtime finding things on the internet to such a positive and National Hero, he was and always will be Canada's Hero! R.I.P my prayers to his family and friends, God Bless You!xo
@888johngalt No, he was killed by a hit and run driver who may have been drunk on a narrow street outside a bar in Montreal Quebec. The man who hit him got away with murder. Served less than 6 months in prison for this crime.
Micheal Phelps would do well to look to this young man for inspiration!!! Make the most of the support and love that he is given and he MAY! become half the man Victor was!!
I am so happy people are remembering him in a very positive way. I had been researching Victor's life to write a biography. My research found a lot of negative things written about him due to his strong personality. If he was swimming today...what was written about would be lame.
I never got to met Victor either. His death effected me deeply. He was a true Canadian hero. Thanks for the comments and thanks for remembering Victor!
during a breaststroke race once i was first and they were giving away some of victor's medals and i got one from his from a event in quebec and the person who gave it to me was his aunt!!!!
this year i had a knee injury and took time off.. but after i watched this i told my self im not going to quit.."never let the fear of striking out, keep u from playing the game." !!!!
im a swimmer from oakville ontario and victor is my hero=) great video..i met his father at a competition in guelph two weeks ago=) im gonna become a olmpian one day!!
Just watched the movie on channel five in the UK. I cried like a child, what a terrible waste, and what a smashing young man, my heart goes out to the family. They must be so proud of Victor, xxx
@garyianneale He was killed on purpose...They try do to anything to make him look bad...sending those uninvited druggies to probably make it look like he is taking drugs...what a setup...and all over a chair he kicked at the fucking Commonwealth Games
Yes I know, it was very hard for my family to get over the passing of Victor.
Every year me and Mel go to curch on Remembrance Day, not to only remeber those who fought in war, but also my Uncle Victor (seeing as he past away around the same time). The Minister realizes this and every year he never forgets to mention Victor Davis during his sevice.
I'm glad to hear a lot of people look upto my Uncle just as I always have :)

@cshort1993
Victor Davis inspired me. I am not a swimmer though I always wanted to be.
Vic made me proud to be a Canadian and gave me the courage to be who I am.
Sad that he died so young.
I have met his father, his brother, his step mom and step family and some of his friends. He was a cool guy...not perfect but an inspiration.

They just showed the movie about his life on C5 in the UK, v. impressive. He had a friendly rivalry with our own Adrian Moorhouse.
Sad that he died so early under such circumstances. How on earth did the driver get away with it?

It is a little rough around the edges but I think it demonstrates that Vic was the best!
I had been researching Vic's life and got to know his family especially his father.
I am from Peterborough. Victor Davis will always be my hero.

His Father Mel is a great man!!

Mel Davis is a great man...though he would say otherwise. lololo.
Mel loved his son dearly and I know it almost killed him to loose him. Vic was so full of life. Snuffed out by a low life.
What he has accomplished will live on and will inspire others.
