  • Ya I saw it too and just was heart broken especially for those who really knew him especially his dad they were so close he will really be lost without him, I know we as a country shouldn't have such a hardtime finding things on the internet to such a positive and National Hero, he was and always will be Canada's Hero! R.I.P my prayers to his family and friends, God Bless You!xo

  • @nikkiskg Thank you!

  • Please keep your comments positive please. This video is in memory of Victor Davis not a place for negative, vulgar, rude comments.

    Thank you! (librarygal)

  • @888johngalt No, he was killed by a hit and run driver who may have been drunk on a narrow street outside a bar in Montreal Quebec. The man who hit him got away with murder. Served less than 6 months in prison for this crime.

  • i watched the victor davis story last night on cbc, such a inspirational movie and such an inspirational man

  • @cshort1993

Victor Davis inspired me. I am not a swimmer though I always wanted to be.

Vic made me proud to be a Canadian and gave me the courage to be who I am.

Sad that he died so young.

I have met his father, his brother, his step mom and step family and some of his friends. He was a cool guy...not perfect but an inspiration.

  • R.I.P :( i saw the movie yesterday and i really cried!

the actress looks just like him o.o

  • They just showed the movie about his life on C5 in the UK, v. impressive. He had a friendly rivalry with our own Adrian Moorhouse.

Sad that he died so early under such circumstances. How on earth did the driver get away with it?

  • It's called Canadian 'justice'. RIP Victor.

  • Micheal Phelps would do well to look to this young man for inspiration!!! Make the most of the support and love that he is given and he MAY! become half the man Victor was!!

  • @garyianneale

    Well said!

I am so happy people are remembering him in a very positive way. I had been researching Victor's life to write a biography. My research found a lot of negative things written about him due to his strong personality. If he was swimming today...what was written about would be lame.

  • weel Done Victor ! I just watched the movie on CBC. One of my friend was a swimmer in DDO (Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Qc). Your memory will live on

    Dan from Montreal Canada

  • I was meaning: Well done Victor ! tks

  • Hi Dan:

Thank you for commenting. Vic's memory will live on. He is my hero. A man who is still inspiring many from all ages to "Go big or Go home!"

  • i think he was one of the few people at the time who died young that i was shocked at even though i never met him

i am watching a movie on CBC about him

  • Hi Gary:

I never got to met Victor either. His death effected me deeply. He was a true Canadian hero. Thanks for the comments and thanks for remembering Victor!

  • during a breaststroke race once i was first and they were giving away some of victor's medals and i got one from his from a event in quebec and the person who gave it to me was his aunt!!!!

    rip victor

  • its such a tragedy how victor died

    rip

  • Victor Davis is my hero. I am a swimmer, and so is my dad, well he was.. he got the chance to swim with him. talk about lucky.

    "Go big or go home."

    Carolanne :}

  • Nice job.

    Signed,

A Guelphite with a long memory.

  • Thanks!

It is a little rough around the edges but I think it demonstrates that Vic was the best!

I had been researching Vic's life and got to know his family especially his father.

I am from Peterborough. Victor Davis will always be my hero.

  • His Father Mel is a great man!!

  • Mel Davis is a great man...though he would say otherwise. lololo.

Mel loved his son dearly and I know it almost killed him to loose him. Vic was so full of life. Snuffed out by a low life.

What he has accomplished will live on and will inspire others.

  • Just watched the movie on channel five in the UK. I cried like a child, what a terrible waste, and what a smashing young man, my heart goes out to the family. They must be so proud of Victor, xxx

  • @garyianneale He was killed on purpose...They try do to anything to make him look bad...sending those uninvited druggies to probably make it look like he is taking drugs...what a setup...and all over a chair he kicked at the fucking Commonwealth Games

  • Yes I know, it was very hard for my family to get over the passing of Victor.

Every year me and Mel go to curch on Remembrance Day, not to only remeber those who fought in war, but also my Uncle Victor (seeing as he past away around the same time). The Minister realizes this and every year he never forgets to mention Victor Davis during his sevice.

I'm glad to hear a lot of people look upto my Uncle just as I always have :)
