@Sen1Sky where's nalbalian? was nalbalian number 1? No, hes 30-something, and will never win a grand slam. Agassi was number one. I'd like to see you do better
@Sen1Sky Nalbandian is a crappy has-been. He can't play. Hasn't it ever occured to you that maybe FEDERER was having a really bad day, lets say, with mono. Personally, nalbadian is my least favorite player on tour
@Sen1Sky that was for half a year in the 2008 season, not just at the aussie open. HE SHOULD HAVE won 4 slams. I can think o a trillion better candidates to win a slam. Has nalbalian even won a 1000 title? Np. Underachiever is just an excuse for someone who cant preform when the stakes are high, and on the pro tour, they always are high.
@Sen1Sky its amazing how stupid YOU are. If your a freaking argentine, then at least cheer for Del Potro, who has a good, solid game and has actually won a grand slam. If not, I see no reason why you should cheer for that has-been.
@Sen1Sky yeah, and whose fault is it that he has been constantly injured. HIM. Has he won a grand slam, NO. And so what if he is an underachiever. Maybe he should learn how to be an overachiever. I bet your a horrible player, and you keep spewing garbage. Nalbalian is at the end of his stupid career, and he has barely one anything. He will drop out of the top 20 in two weeks, max. And when is the last time nalbalian beat any top ten player, let alone federer, You are the ultimate retard.
@Sen1Sky what is his record against rafa? 0-0? Fine, so he beat federer a couple of times, but not recently. Clearly, considering how stubborn you are, this argument is getting no where. Bottom line: clearly agassi, with his 8 grand slams and multiple tournament wins, not to mention all his fame over that crappy argentine, is the better player. And agassi's BACKHAND is better than nalbalian's fuckin' backhand. So SHUT THE FUCK UP!
@Sen1Sky NOBODY has a backhand better than gasquet. Gasquets backhand is incredible. In a different league, like federer's forehand. And the only reason agassi ran around his backhand was because his forehand was AMAZING, not because he had a bad backhand
@Sen1Sky first of all, there are people who have a better backhand then forehand, and STILL run around their backhand because you can get more power on your forehand. And he STILL wins. At the end of the friggin day, its who wins, not who has the more beautiful strokes.
@trevorwinton I think the difference between the two backhands was consistency. When Safin was 'on' he probably hit a more effective backhand. But you only got this Safin 1/10. Agassi on the other hand always produced sharp, powerful and purposeful strokes off the backhand side. I think Andre and Nalbandian had the best bh's in the modern era.
@JimmmySameee I meant no will be able to take it to the pros man. You might have this shot, but you don't hit anywhere near as consistently as Andre.
@bigpo1234 Actually Agassi said the opposite... that his stroke is basically a 1HBH with the left hand for just support. Roddick's BH is an example of using the left hand more.
I wanna hit a 2hander like agassi.. it looks like he gets the shoulder turn, tries to hit it @waist height and swings at it like a baseball bat, follow thru over shoulder.. right when he takes it back, is it the wrist action right b4 torso rotation that adds the pace/control?
Agassi has one of the sickest torso muscles I've seen... he's actually pretty skinny if you see his legs and arms but if you see him shirtless.... he has a monster torso! Can't help but have such a powerful 2h backhand with that kind of muscle racked around his torso.
Despite his head-to-head record comparison against Sampras, I think Agassi was the greater talent and ultimately the greater player. I think he's the greatest shot-maker of all time. Tricky to compare against Federer and Nadal because they've had access to much greater topspin through modern racquet tech for their entire careers.
@KaitainCPS Talent doesn't equate to greatness. Greatness is measured by achievements. Talent is just an attribute that can help you achieve greatness.
Oh, I agree. Agassi certainly didn't fulfill his potential. But failure to win all four slams is in my book automatic disqualification for the GOAT shortlist. Agassi makes that shortlist; Sampras doesn't. (I don't think Agassi goes on to WIN from that shortlist, however, as he didn't apply himself properly for far too long.)

Best double handed technique. It's the upward tilted racquet head at the back that gives him that snap of power. Same as Nalbandian and Tsonga.

You have to have PERFECT timing to be able to hit such wristy backhands.
That's why no one will ever be able to mimic this shot.

If he had this mind set in his early years, (1990 to early 1992) he would have won 3-4 more slams. EIther way, he is one of the all time greatest.
