The Kimberly process may be just another way for the diamond cartel to maintain it's monopoly by discouraging competition. If a diamond can be bought for $20 in Africa and sold for $1000 or more in Europe, then there does not need to be any government regulation. Some entrepeneur will find that niche and start buying so many of those diamonds for $20 that soon they will be $25 or even $200. That means that the diamond miners might be much better off if there was no barriers to trade.
who cares how many countries signed up for the kimberly process, its how many who will actually follow through and enforce it. making it exists isn't good enough>:(
the rules of those who made the guns and those who use it against the poor and helpless rains evil, selfishness, and cowardness not supreme that judge is evil how do you praise something that killed alot of people of being supreme? guns are not supreme they are made to do evil things you stupid fucking judge
Fuck I would go there if it were safe pay them well and still make a profit and help build there country...but I guess thats just another pipe dream...bucause to many dirty hands with paper work stop this ...IE: the united nations.
The British were ONLY Small part. Most forces were from Asia who defeated RUF. WHY twist facts? British did NOTHING. Pakistan was the Largest Contributor in terms of Force (google it).

So much for the free market, to give proper wage to its workers
dream on.
De Beers could have had the fair trade system implemented by Max Havelaar.
But the middle men buying the raw materials for 20 dollars in sierra Leone
and selling them for 1500 dollars in Antwerp
Someone is getting fat rich in the middle.
again just like the cocoa in Ivory Coast.
raw materials bought for 10-20 dollars sold for 75 times
the money..
and u ask why Africa is still poor..
