I have a 05 version... does anybody know how to put subs in it? every custom place i go to say it cant be done cause of the dash and heater controls.

only volvo dealer can install it. it is fiberoptic cables and a 8" powered sub. worth the money. you should be prepared to spend atleast $900 for parts and install. again, only a volvo dealer can install it because the headunit requires a software update to control the sub.

that is not true at all. i have 2 15" subs in pro boxes in my s40 t5 with a 1700 watt amp mounted to the back seat. it works fine what you have to do is wire one of the speaker analog wires to the amp, i used the front passenger for mine. anything is possible, you just have to know what you're doing.

1700 watts is just stupid lol. Volvo have done an excellent job with the audio. I have high performance system and that is very good. I cant imagine how good premium sound is!!!!

The 2008 has an auxiliary jack at the bottom of the CD compartment in the armrest. Works with my wife's iPod, although it doesn't give you control of the iPod through the stereo system.

i have an V50 and there is an auxillary jack behind the floating dashboard... in the newer ones that is in the box between the frontseats.

yup. just tap into the reat speaker line. but the cool option is the subwoofer control on the head unit. the volvo 8" sub hits hard and tight. worth the ugrade if you have the premium sound.

@bigpizza112 How much watts a system generates is the smallest indicator of sound quality...you can strap 2000W of shit speakers together that will sound worse than a proper audiophile system with 200-300W.

yup. its a dealer installed option. it is worth every penny. yes, it has an 8" sub, but kicks ass. great compliment for the premium audio. not to forget the software upgrade which gives you sub control on the screen.

I agree with EvolveVolvo, I have a fully loaded 2005 S40 T5 that i bought last year, I LOVE playing around with the audio settings and the subwoofer is pretty nice but for people who need a lot of base you might want to go with a JL 10 inch or 2.

i think id rather install my own. pioneer speakers all around yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa with perhaps 2 10" subs in the back for bass, not "go deaf"

i have the volvo subwooder which my local dealer installed. cost (parts+labor) was $900. expensive, but has a big punch for a small unit. to see more of the sub, view my SLIDE SHOW video, and somewhere inthere, you can see the factory sub.

I have the factory subwoofer as well, cost the same (900usd in mexico), but they install a pulse power supply, mosfet power amplifier with the subwoofer and all optical cabling. The audio sounds even great now! deserve it!
