Most American's won't/can't understand why Afghans do not like what's going on, and I try to explain to them that because of Afghanistan's history, it's hard for them to trust outsiders. Because of how over thousands of years people have tried to conquer them, so distrust is very common with outsiders. Hopefully the Afghan Army will one day be strong enough to support the beautiful country.

1) Every nato nation should put some money in the pot to try and get atleast $10 billion, loan this money to the afghan government/army so they can produce and buy new weponry and paye their troops correctly.
2) Train their troops better (dont make the army bigger).
3) Nato troops pull out of the cites and stick to the rural areas where the taliban are and keep the afghan army in the cites to win the hearts and minds of the afghan people.

Who ever thinks or says or heard that the Taleban ever fought the Russians should stop listening to American propaganda videos. It was the Afghan Mujahideen that kicked Russia's ass. The Russians were in Afghanistan from 1979 to 1989, but the Taleban were created by USA in 1994 and they took control of Kabul in 1996.
Unfortunately too, ISAF can't directly fund the ANA so they have better wages that comes once your country develops it's own economy and budget to maintain the military in same fashion all ISAF countries do. That's why Afghan soldiers need an open mind to fight for the better future to get the rewarding outcome.
If only there were more people with the attitude like major daoud with the skills to walk the talk and until then we have to train them as best we can to have fighters who're competent but also respectful with humility and an open mind. If they had everything US military has with no training they would destroy most of it trying to make it work. I trained the ANA medics in 2006, with out of date American medical equipment. it was scary the theory exam the american's expected the ANA to do to say they were qualified to train as a medic.
Unless the ANA get funding to become self sufficient they will always have to rely on UN to help them support themselves logistically. the ANA medical soldiers were keen to work and learn new skills to gain their qualification as team medic. Even better they were taught by a highly skilled female medic!
this group of ANA are very professional SDRs and officers.i was a terp in afg since 2002 to 2009 assigned working with 1st infantry battalian of 2nd BDE.i know of few of these guys and the officer who talk on radio at end of this clip used to be the 1st kandak's heavy weapons company CMD, iam realy proud of these guys i realy miss them.god bless them and give them more and more power, i love the ANA

How many American soldiers join the army for college grants and healthcare, or just flat out promised income to fight their countries enemy ? In 2011, the war will still be going terrible, and we will withdraw with our tail between our legs. Sending in more troops in a failed war is stupid. Instead we must withdraw all troops, and only focus on air raids in Al-Qaida camps should they pop up. It wasn't the Taliban that attacked us, it was Bin Laden, who ain't even there anymore. Why not withdraw, and attack by the air if any signs appear that Bin Laden is again setting up camp there? There are enough informants on the ground.

1) Every nato nation should put some money in the pot to try and get atleast $10 billion, loan this money to the afghan government/army so they can produce and buy new weponry and paye their troops correctly.
2) Train their troops better (dont make the army bigger).
3) Nato troops pull out of the cites and stick to the rural areas where the taliban are and keep the afghan army in the cites to win the hearts and minds of the afghan people.

The Russians were in Afghanistan from 1979 to 1989, but the Taleban were created by USA in 1994 and they took control of Kabul in 1996.

Unfortunately too, ISAF can't directly fund the ANA so they have better wages that comes once your country develops it's own economy and budget to maintain the military in same fashion all ISAF countries do. I trained the ANA medics in 2006, with out of date American medical equipment. it was scary the theory exam the american's expected the ANA to do to say they were qualified to train as a medic.
Unless the ANA get funding to become self sufficient they will always have to rely on UN to help them support themselves logistically. the ANA medical soldiers were keen to work and learn new skills to gain their qualification as team medic. Even better they were taught by a highly skilled female medic!

The hidden powers running the show know exactly what they want and this turmoil is the result. If the conditions were to improve and the Afghan army was able to gain an advantage, among the people and against the Taliban, there would be ample reason for NATO to withdraw its troops, so naturally promises are broken and the army is underpaid

You need to learn something about afghan history as well as afghan culture.
These are people who have been killing foreigners for the last thousand years. They are a proud people, they would rather have an afghan enemy then a foreign one and history proves it.

i know about they history....we are not trying to take away their religion nor are we trying to americanized them...we enabling them to grow as a nation and when we build schools and hospitals and cater to their needs they remember stuff like that...under the taliban they were treated like shit...women were beaten for trying to get a edcuation..now the women have hope and they are becoming stronger and i hope its kept like that

This is the same mistake people always when talking about terrorism. They act like if we shoot enough of them the ideology will go away, well it wont. There is more then one jihadist organization in Afghanistan, and there are dozens across the world. The threat of international terrorism will always be there no matter what we do.

As a sovereign, according to this thing called international law, the Taliban government asked for proof, which is their right, and instead, immediately, without a declaration of war, Bush bombed them. EVERY nation has the right to decide what its gov't is; they don't need UN "approval." No matter how dirt poor or brown the people, every nation is sovereign, and the U$ violated its own articles of war by bombing Afghanistan the way it did. The same with Iraq! What you think of a nation's laws doesn't matter, unless you're some imperialist who thinks s/he has the right boss other countries around. You don't. Every nation, in theory, is sovereign, unless the USA wants something that it won't give up, which then means the US will 1) invade 2) bomb 3) occupy it 4) or star a coup. Ask yourself this question: if China were doing what the US is--occupying sovereign nations, murdering people b/c of nonexistent "WMDS"s, you'd be outraged. But the US can?

Not personally, but I don't live in one of the poorest countries on Earth, there aren't dozens of invading armies roaming around. How many American soldiers join the army for college grants and healthcare, or just flat out promised income to fight their countries enemy ? The US funded them to do the same to Russians when they were in Afghanistan.

In 2011, the war will still be going terrible, and we will withdraw with our tail between our legs. Sending in more troops in a failed war is stupid. Instead we must withdraw all troops, and only focus on air raids in Al-Qaida camps should they pop up. It wasn't the Taliban that attacked us, it was Bin Laden, who ain't even there anymore. Why not withdraw, and attack by the air if any signs appear that Bin Laden is again setting up camp there? There are enough informants on the ground.
