I was suffering with this same thing. I only felt confident when I had my eyelashes, but I found out how to stop myself!. Check out my blog for how to stop it, go on my channel and look at my website
Well, fair enough, but whatever. I was just throwing out a suggestion. Benadryl makes a majority of people drowsy, but there will always be exceptions to the rule. The fact that you respond differently doesn't make my suggestion any more valid. If four 25mg diphenhydramine pills don't make you fall asleep half an hour later, they don't, but it's worth a shot (small people, 100 lb. women, and the like, use your discretion and don't take four).

We just need to get medical marijuana legalized, then anxiety and stress could be greatly reduced in trich sufferers. Yes, I'm a trichster. And yes, I've found great relief from marijuana.
cbrenn9582, I'm very happy for you. I'm glad to hear that you have benefited from these medicines. However, the idea of being on several different synthetic drugs concerns me. Adderall is pretty much legal METH and much safer drugs such as Benadryl can be used to help insomnia...

@Kristinxxxbabiie trichotillomania is an anxiety dissorder, and i think some kinds of depression is a part of an anxiety problem too. My cure is just shave all of your hair off and you wont have to worry about it.
@jujube343 Me too. I have had since 2005. I was dubbed with the most beautiful hair in school, now it looks horrible. I wish there something out there for us.
i agree with you 100%. i've been doing tons of research on it lately and, with trich being an impulse control problem, i believe it does go hand in hand with having ADD...at least in our cases... thanks for posting and spreading awareness... :)
I've had trich since I was 9 and you makes so much sense. I ony really started looking at it today but it ALL makes sense. I really need help but there is like no way of getting it without money! cept in the uk we might get it on the NHS. Plus I can't use extensions coz it's my eyelashes and eyebrows I pull *grrrr*
Thanks for posting this video! I'm also on lexapro for anxiety/depression and have been struggling with trich for about 4 years. I've never thought about being tested for add or adhd before...but now I am because what you said about it really hit home with me...I totally understand what you're saying about that trance!
oh man...this sux i have it too...but im trying not to pull it out but its like my hand sneaks up there when im not paying attention...i dont think there are drug cures though...when u feel ur hand there, FORCE YOURSELF to put the hand back down, all 30 times a second u try it...im gonna grow my hair long then braid it...fuck it looks like shit atm though :(
you are SSSOO pretty!!! and have gorgeous hair and really nice eyebrows. i suffer from generalized anxiety disorder, ADD, trich, and depression. i also have a sweating disorder and a skin disorder called ceberia (really dry skin). it's all so embarrassing and makes me depressed at times. i tell myself it could be worse, i could have cancer, etc. which i don't. i just try to think postitively and have hope. i know that God is watching over me. :)
Hey, Im kind of like you! Anxiety, trich, and sweating disorder. I like your positive attitude and yes it is embarrassing at some times but just remember that God has a plan for everyone!
Hey! My advice on the doctor situation is google, google, google! Try to find psychiatrists who hav experience with trich. You'd be surprised what you can find, especially compared with a couple years ago. I remember as a child having to drive over two hours to the closest psychiatrist who knew of the disorder - now there is one not even five minutes from my house! Also, I have found that having extensions (the clip in kind) really helps me out, mainly with my confidence. It's nice to not worry!
How, interesting: ADHD. I never would have thought about drawing that correlation. However, I am very much a perfectionist. It can get in the way of lots of things. Thank you for sharing your insight. You piqued my curiosity into learning more about ADHD.
ive been seeing a psychotherapist for a few months now and I'm finally pull free.. (for 22 days now).. What helped me is that I started tracking how many hairs I was pulling and it made me a lot more aware of it.. Glad to see you're doing better. (I know you don't know me.. but i saw your other vid before) haha

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to put you down. I am just concerned to see someone get prescribed several different medications.
Overall, though, I am happy to see you are winning this battle. You look great and you have a friendly personality.
