@captross07 Actually, you might want to read up on that fact. Wikipedia(among other sources, snopes, tuskegee.edu,usatoday ) report that they actually did lose up to 25 bombers to enemy aircraft. Col Davis's own log entries even show it.

From what I've read, while the higher officers and fellow fighter pilots had a depressing tendency to be dicks to them, the bomber crews really didn't give a shit who was flying the escorts so long as they did a good job. I can scarcely imagine something like that up above actually happening, even the most virulently racist soldiers in integrated units in the Battle of the Bulge kept their traps shut. Hard to hate a guy who saves you.

To be honest if I was the bomber's co-pilot or any of the other crewmembers I would've punched the pilot in the face, the Tuskegee pilots saved their lives and his thanks is to insult them, that pilot is a disgrace to the uniform he wears

Maddening. Several actual Tuskeegee Airmen who were shot down during WWII said they recieved much better treatment and respect from the Nazis, of all people, while held in POW camps, than they did from Americans when they got back home after the war.
