  • Thank`s to doctone for posting; me I love STING WITH GIL EVSNS so much since I`ve heard them on Ö1!

  • GREAT SONG IS OF STING! OF THE POLICE

  • Marsalis is amazing on this!

  • I was there - July '87

    Wonderful concert

  • uh.. ti invidio! :)

  • Sting all'apice!! Branford Marsalis che musicista!!

  • Branford Marsalis!

  • i was there....still have shivers when thinking of it

    thanks a lot

  • I was there too :) with no money I was outside and I listened the concert sitting on greengrass... was great too :) hi from italy

  • "Branford's solo is great and I love Gil Evans but I can't stand how all the Gil Orchestra arrangements are way slowed down...they just drag."

Totally slower and lower key. Turtles outdoes this version.

  • I love the rhythm, Sting's version is better than the police's song

  • Probably one of my all time favorite Sting & The Police songs.. if not my favorite. ^_^

  • Kinda interesting; the feel on this is in between the version on Blue Turtles and the one on Zenyatta. Nice solo by Branford. Still like the Blue Turtles one best.

  • Sorry but the best was Kenny..he was kind a God at keys..

  • Absolutely. Kenny Kirkland's solo on this one is one of the best I've ever heard, and he, like the rest of the Blue Turtles band, was absolutely amazing in live performance. He is much missed.

  • Sure..Damn drugs!!!!!

  • I didn't realize he had OD'd. Both trite and stupid. I had a conversation with a musician friend of mine the other day in which he pointed out that Max Roach outlived all his conteporaries because he took care of himself and Michael Brecker died relatively young because he didn't. Have you seen how good Sting, Andy, and Stewart look these days? Fit, healthy, and sounding better than ever!

  • Yes..

  • I totally agree. Stay away from overuse. God bless Kenny.

  • Bring back the Blue Turtles! They were the best! Anyone know how they came up with that name?

  • Sting had a dream where he was dancing with some blue turtles-I don;t recall the whole story, but I think it's in the liner notes to the Dream of the Blue Turtles album.

  • You are correct. It's also in stings utobiography, "Broken Music"

  • this is crap. i'm sorry to say that - but it's true.

  • can you argue what you say?

  • can you argue what you say?

  • nice sax squawk at 3:15 or so....oooops.

  • Gotta agree with Goldeneye, it's draggin.....

Cool tune though, Sting & Branford were kickin...

  • Branford's solo is great and I love Gil Evans but I can't stand how all the Gil Orchestra arrangements are way slowed down...they just drag.

  • Marvelous, even if it's not jazz
