i have to agree with you on the maisto car problems they do have some trouble with the doors and hoods and the paint could be better buts its a good atempt at making models because ive had my models for well over 2 years and clean them atleast every 2 months and the doors and hoods seem fine but the only problem ive had was with the wheels they kinda bend but that because of the axel they use but no bad feelings to maisto

Out of those, I only have the SL55 AMG, the Hummer H2, and the Cayenne Turbo. And out of the ones you have, I want to buy a IS300 and BMW 5 Series.

I noticed that you say Maisto ones are not as great. IDK. I mean they are cheap, and sometimes they are poorly done, for example the Diablo SV...total piece of rubbish. But naturally, AutoArt and Kyosho models will be of higher quality. I personally hope that Maisto will come out with a 1/18 IS300.

i agree that autoart and kyosho are the higher quality ones for sure...since they're always pricey. but yeah i started off with maisto cars...only complaint is the doors and some quality. other than that, i still admire the beauty of the car

Personally, I've got about 20 Maisto models (Costco and Sams Club FTW), and the trend that I noticed in them is that the older models (the ones they produced earlier) suffer from more problems than the newer ones.

For example, the SL55 AMG has horrible hinge doors. However, with newer models such as the Carrera GT, quality is way up, and I suffer no problem with the hinges. Wheels are smoother, and suspension is better.

yeah i was quite surprised that Maisto made the carrera gt! i mean...it actually looks quite nice! and wow that's some collection! perhaps you can make a picture slideshow =)

yeah my ML320's suspension is weird...i find it quite bouncy? same with the cayenne turbo!

autoart is the best make i think,even though theres always some tiny fault with each and every copy of every model car its unavoidable let it be a scratch a paint smear, a slightly loose door etc it became an obsessive disorder for me and i just had to pack the hobby up as my room was getting a mess

haha nah i'm using my summer's pay =P for Kyosho products, you're right. The car is packaged in a rectangular styrofoam box (no need for screws to unlock the car like Maisto or Autoart). so yeah once you open the box, you see another styrofoam box =P you can ask them to open a box for you to see and i'm sure they'll let you!

Kyosho models can be found at several places but i would recommend Mind Games. i just ordered a M5 today but i had to special order it (and it's by kyosho). Pacific Mall might have some...you probably have to ask them but for sure MindGames has it. not many places have kyosho products, since they're still somewhat new, but products are good. so hope this helps =)
