  • great video dude ...nice techniek

  • Nice stuff-it's great that you're showing chains of attacks and sweeps instead of one technique. It's rare that the first thing you go for is going to work. A layman can sense old-school coming even, usu., then if you go right into ele. chair, they forget their leaving themselves open to getting right back into the guard.

  • Man did I NEED this!! Thanks for sharing!

  • We can't really see the FootWork Because of positioning you should show moves from front AND from the other side but really good sweep did it at training no one did know some of them :D

  • I always smile and laugh when I have to tap because it excites me that I have something to go home and work on for the next day of class. I look at it as a learning experience every time

  • good video...thanks

  • I love these videos. Thank you so much.

  • Nice video. A quick replay of each move from a different angle (right before you cut to the next one) would be a nice touch. Thanks.

  • until this videos my only half gaurd escape i could even attempt would be to open my gaurd and try to use underhooks to swing out when my oppenents tried to pass to mount or side, but my ears are swollen from trying to do that when people have me in headlocks from half guard, maybe this will help out my poor poor ears lol

  • He gets this paper cutter grip, cranks my head down, and now I'm getting Darce choked. That's no fun. *partner shakes head no*

  • @Phishstrangler We can all agree that getting choked sucks... Thanks for watching, and please check out the site.

  • @TechniquePrevails Definitely. I have a bruise on my throat from a rear-naked choke right now, and that's no fun either. About to check out the website.

  • @Phishstrangler And then he moves on to the next sweep and explained how to do that sweep. *partner lifts his arm so you can see* am i doing it right?

  • "And if that doesn't work"

  • I'm a big fan of all your videos. I'm excited to try these at practice tomorrow :)

  • these are some really effective techniques i really wish i could remember and execute them all perfectly (: practice makes perfect ...

thank you for all the effort you guys have put on these videos, they are really appreciated ! :)

  • You know, it's really nice tutorial, but propably somewhere on the 10th Planet Eddie Bravo is quite pissed off - 90% of this comes from his books and dvds :P But it's still nice work, I'm waiting for next episodes.

  • @fbgeorgiew Not sure why Eddie Bravo would be pissed off at this... I think Eddie's half-guard work is the most incredible part of the entire 10PJJ system.

I think Eddie is well aware that I think he's a grappling genius!

    Thanks for watching!

  • @fbgeorgiew I think eddie would be mad if you stole one of his riffs, but I don't think you can be mad over using a system. He beleives in the ether, He would be a hippocrite if he were mad. thats like a historian being mad because someone agrees with his thesis. I meant riff as in music by the way as he's a guitarist.

  • Dude you are a bad man. Thank you for the technique It will definetly come in handy; that grape vine hook is mean. You explain everything very well, I understood it perfectly.

  • thanks man i wrestle with my friends and i beat them all im only 15 years old im in high school but i want to do mma wen i grow up this helps me

  • @RxCal831 good luck with your potential career man, mma has changed my life. It is not only a sport it is a lifestyle

  • I don't really know (or like) Jiu Jitsu because I'm a "stand-up" guy (or boxer), but I think this is some good in-depth and technical instruction. You should do some instructional videos for increasing flexibility. That would make me more apt to practice since I'm so stiff....Good stuff none the less.

  • Thank you for removing the writing in the middle of the screen (train fight Win).

  • If I do this he does this or that and so on. It's like playing chess.

  • From the whip up cant you just take his back? Great video!

  • @SGrulez1 If he doesn't set the whizzer (overhook with the arm) then yes... However, most skilled opponents will.

Thanks for watching, and please check out the site!

  • "fly high" lol.

  • great stuff!!!

  • THIS IS A LOT OF INFO IMA NEED TO WATCH THIS A COUPLE OF TIMES

  • great video

  • i was there was another angle this was shot from, i dunno the position ur legs go to for the first sweep (old school)

  • I really like the electric chair to x-guard...I never thought of that...cool..

  • I think that its sad that when someone takes time to share their information. People attack them on a pretty personal level. Thanks for the chain.

  • great video thanks disregard the negative comments jerks make

  • @steelergriffin I don't sweat the small stuff, man. Thanks for watching, and please check out the site.

  • i like it!!

  • 10th Planet stuff is so amateur.

  • @JerseyTrash116 LOL....

  • @TechniquePrevails i wouldn't say hes completely off, I go to probably the best BJJ school in the boston area and most of the guys there don't have a lot of respect for 10th planet, not saying its bad but it is definitely not better than gracie barra

  • @Arcturistheballer I agree that Gracie Barra has a phenomenal system. I love rolling with their guys. They are always top-knotch. But instead of me trying to argue "who would beat who up" between Gracie-Barra and 10PJJ, I simply suggest that people take what works for them and leave what doesn't.

To me, they're all branches on the same tree.

  • I love how he always says "From here we've got a couple of options." I swear this guy is never in a disadvantaged position.

  • Thanks for posting this up my brother... studying and practicing this sweep chain has added quite a bit more confidence to my repertoire when attacking from half guard... I train in GI and to answer a question posted earlier?... Yes this sweep chain works with GI as well....

  • Thanks for posting this up my brother... studying and practicing this sweep chain has added quite a bit more confidence to my repertoire attacking from half guard

  • You're just echoing eddie bravo's Mastering the Rubber Guard DVD... -.-

  • @EzMac1337 A lot of it is from Eddie's system... As I've said on numerous occasions, I think Eddie's half-guard game is the most effective part of the 10PJJ system (for me, at least). However- Eddie doesn't really include the Master Blaster set up, the X-Guard set up, and quite a few other options.

Thanks for watching, though- and please check out the site.

  • Wow a lot of info on alot of options there, thanks man.

  • dude, sweet video.

  • i agree.. good instructional video. Thank you

  • These sweeps are great man. I find the whip-up into the old school are the most effective.

  • veryyy nice chain.

  • veryyy nice chain.

  • brilliant chain guys, thank you very much!!

  • Dude you are such an amazing instructor. Phenomenall

  • @wFightClub I appreciate the positive feedback. I hope you'll check out the site and register a free account!

    Thanks for watching.

  • @TechniquePrevails could i ask, which of these moves work best against VERY large opponents. i was recently in a grappling tournament and took second, the winner was just SO big. he was 310 6ft and all upper body with 6yrs of wrestling, and he was crushing me so much i couldnt use half of my techs because he was just too big, if i relaxed i couldnt breath, and i couldnt create any space. any suggestions?

  • @TechniquePrevails those sweeps work with gi too or u only recommend them with no g?

  • @ayotechie I don't mess around with the gi very much- so I'm not sure... I would say yes, but I'm sure there are more chokes that you are open to when you start some of the chains.

In other words- I would think that they'd be very effective, but check for counters with someone who has more of a BJJ background focusing on gi work.

    Thanks for watching!

  • awesome choke at 3:25, cant wait to try that one out in the gym

  • @sousawatchingvids It's called a Darce choke.

  • This is a really great chain. Excellent work.

  • @sacredrage Thank you... We really enjoy this chain as well. I hope you'll check out the site!

  • @TechniquePrevails

Where is your gym physically located?

  • @sacredrage I train at a few gyms... I don't actually own a gym- but train at Top of the Line Fitness in Lawrenceville, GA; Milledgeville Academy of Mixed Martial Arts in Milledgeville; and Georgia Fight Club in Loganville. I highly suggest all of them.

  • wow i seriously needed some sweeps from half guard and these help my game ALOT thank you!

  • this is awesome stuff can you do a chain escapes from mount?

  • great instruction, ill be working on this next class. thanks again, and keep em' coming proffessor

  • i can't seem to get the half butterfly leg in when i'm being smashed down.. any tips?

  • @jackandcoke02

Get off the flat part of your back and get up on one hip so that you can get your other leg under him.

  • @jackandcoke02 push the opponents head until you can claim underhook with near arm, get to side, escape hips out about a foot and you have created space for hook to come in.

  • What can you do if you fail at the whip up but still have double under hooks?

  • Whip up again. Or start to establish butterfly guard or half-butterfly.

  • Alright, I'll start to work on it. Thank you.

  • @msyms11 if you fail with whip up but half underhook just go the other way with a basic half guard sweep since usually this is due to someone A. having good base, or B. posting with far arm. basically they have commited all their base and strength to being moved one way, rendering them more easily and likely to be swept the other way, but this has to be quick, and its a feel thing, take to long to work it in and you will telegraph your move, fake it sometimes just to claim sweep.

  • You guys are the best, i only have one question about this whip up. Whenever i am rolling a guy who is a bit bigger than me i find that i cant bump him at all to get to the old school, is there anything i can do ?

  • This guys a great instructer!! Thanks for making things clear and easy!! I really like that you teach ppl how to defend themselves for free, anywhere else is so expensive.... Learn, practice lots and pay it forward:)

  • Nice!

  • can you go to mount from old school?

  • You'll probably get caught in his half guard. Better to go to side control and then work to mount.

  • thnx alot i will keep this in mind

  • great videos. can these sweeps be applied equally as well with a gi?

  • Absolutely. The Gi even provides more grip handles.

  • thanks for the videos... one of the best on the net

  • hahaha lol. "thats not fun" 3:24 nicely said!

  • this vid is sick

  • One thing im having trouble with is defending the knee bar attempts when i have my opp in half. Any suggestions?

  • Thanks for clearing this up. We appreciate it. Cool stuff. Cool site.

You will notice that the style shown in these videos is not a true Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. That is because our system has been developed specifically for Mixed Martial Arts competition and self-defense. True Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, in its core form, depends heavily on a gi and is based largely on points.

  • Awesome man I have been looking for overhook sweeps. Keep up the great work. And youtube vids! Being 20 and broke I did well to get eddies books.

  • Great stuff bro once again!!! Curious to know who you did your training under.

  • Check out the About Us page at the site.

  • do u have any videos of tournaments u have been in

  • Like always good job and thanks for posting them. It helps to watch them to keep my options fresh for the next day of training. Great tools!

  • Hey, man. I know ur from GA. Were you at the NAGAs on sept 12? I think I saw u there.

  • Not this year...

  • i smell a darce in all those sweeps!!!!

  • I love the smell of a darce in the morning... Smells like victory.

  • really great stuff. i've trained bjj for 4 years and these sweeps will definitely work their way into my game. thanks again and keep them coming

  • Man this has been friggin awesome for me at training. This is really great stuff. Have had a few Blue Belts scratching their heads as they have usually been tying me up with the half guard. great Work

  • This is such a great video. I just had one point of confusion. In your set up to transition to X-guard and then sweep you say plant your left leg, but in the video it looks like you plant your right leg, but it's still difficult to see because the camera angle. Can you please clarify?

  • By "plant" I meant setting the butterfly hook. Check out the following videos for more details on this transition.

  • Thanks man! This video gave me a lot of new ideas to expand my half guard game.

  • have u ever trained wit eddie bravo ??

  • Not extensively. I live in Atlanta and he's in Hollywood.

  • thats wats up fellas keep the info coming

  • thats good shit bro you answerd alot of questions thank you

  • Very good guys thanks for the video.

  • Hi,

Any good ideas how to deal with opponents arm against your head when u are going for electric chair after he has sprawled his leg. (In this case the left arm of the guy with the white shirt, he isnt blocking your head tho in this demonstration)

  • I'm not sure exactly what you need. If you don't mind, please ask this question in the MMA Discussion Board at our site and I'll be glad to help you out.

  • I just recently came across your videos on Youtube.

Dawg...you got mad skillz. I really enjoyed the Darce video from all the different positions.

KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK MAN !!! :D

  • Thanks for your kind words. I appreciate the feedback and hope that you'll subscribe to the channel and register at the site.

  • really great instruction. I love the chain. I normally start with old school but I'm a white belt and if old school isn't there I didn't know the electric chair. I think it will help me a ton.

  • Was using your chain sweeps from side mount last night the boy i was rolling with was asking how i know this stuff so i told him about this great info please keep it coming from the uk

    it all works. \o/

    perfect! thanks.

  • Glad you like it, please be sure to check out the site and subscribe to our youtube channel!

  • nice video, but the only thing i find annoying is the camera angle and inability to see what you are doing.

  • I have other videos that show each step of this from every angle. This video is just to show how they all chain together.

  • I really appreciate your teaching skills! Your site and Submissions101 are the best out there! Great "what if that doesnt work" scenarios.

  • really good video :)

    much appreciated

  • i seriously like these videos i often grapple against people who weigh much more, so i've got some new ideas from this video i'll try at the gym today =)

  • We incorporate parts of their system- but are in no way affiliated with them.

  • Damn!! Great stuff!

  • great video

the chain vids are great especially when they are explained like you do

  • THX so much . Really!..the site is great too

  • awesome

  • Great sweeps, great video!!! I love stoner control...as if that wasnt an obvious :). And tend to work a lot of lockdown subs and sweeps, I also transition to X and butteryfly guard so it was nice to see all of that covered in one video. Even though i aim for rubber guard attacks, half guard is where the fun is!

  • Very good video.

Id like to see more videos with chain movements like this

  • Well check out the site! We've got a TON of chain videos there.
