  • Beautiful!!

  • I had the hugest crush on her when I first saw her in the movie "Jesus Christ Superstar" when she played Mary Magdalene.

  • Que atractiva, guapa y linda mujer, su voz es inolvidable, feliz cumpleaños para ti desde Perú.

  • american idol's take notes

  • una mujer muy hermosa y una voz presiosa k seria de ella buen video

  • She was both beautiful and talented. No doubt she still is.

  • Feliz cumpleaños Ivonne. Excelente artista, completísima y muy linda.

  • Happy 60th Birthday Yvonne!

  • CAN WE START A CAMPAIGN TO GET YVONNE ELLIMAN TO BE RECOGNISED BY THE WORLD, THERE ARE VERY FEW SINGER THAT CAN MATCH HER.

  • in 1977 i was 8 yrs of age of only i was 12 yrs older and she was my girlfriend how sexy is yvonne

  • Hermosa canción

  • i love her lovely singer and i remember the days

  • The problem is, people like her make it look so effortless. The modern generation think they don't need to learn the trade.... They should never have stopped singing lessons in schools. Not all of us can do it, but so what????

  • So Silky

  • More one great song by The Bee Gees (1976, Children of the world album).

Yvonne have a nice voice too.

  • Timeless classic. Soul, passion and beautifully sung. Written by the genius Gibb bros.

  • gorgeous and soulful

  • No cambio estos tiempos ni volviendo a nacer. Saludos al mundo desde Costa Rica que ama la paz.

  • thank you! have missed this song ..

  • Why does this song bring such a pang to the my heart? Probably because I was a innocent who fell in love so disastrously and felt the words were meant for me!

  • she's so beautiful.

  • I liked this song so much better then "I can't have you" her other hit song.

  • Love love this song the vibe isnt the least absent...it stays rite on til 3.12

  • she was so passionate, I wish she had had a better career. She was swept away with the disco fodder of the 70's.

  • The eyes are the windows to the soul. Look into the eyes. Yvonne Eliman rings true. Great, effortless, understated style, nothing forced and no overblown vocalising. I like the way that she isn't afraid to keep it simple and let the strength of the material come shining through. Great singing is much, much more than vocal power and tricks. There is such a thing as interpretative skill, working with the material rather than against it. This is a perfect fit between singer and song.

  • I think she is great and I love the way she looks and her heritage... Love her voice, it's unique!!

  • Wow she is fine! I'm black and I love Asian women! No scratch that--I adore them to death!!!

  • Beautiful song, beautiful voice, beautiful woman!

  • She sang this better than the Bee Gee's did on the original version. No disrespect to the Bee Gee's. I love them to.

  • Living Doll!

  • desde mexico k mujeron y k rola mis respetos

  • Oh, thank you for that. That would explain her looks. She must have had a hard life because of her heritage though. I know back then Americans where still hostile towards the Japanese, even if they were by all rights American!

  • I have a student who looks like Yvonne and she sings in my English Choir. Her name is Sheila Tovar and she's very talented like Ms. Elliman. Both have an exotic beauty and a lovely voice.

    Greetings from Lima, Peru.

  • @TypesALot Typical Gibb Brothers harmony really shines through at 2.13...

  • When I grew up I was taught that a Diva is a woman who takes pride in her hard work, who strives for perfection and never lets the bad get her down. A Diva was a woman who was professional and motivated. She never got her business in the streets, and even if she did she carried herself with dignity. That is a true Diva, not the shrill, egotistical, abusive snobbish trash they have out there now. This woman was a Diva!!!

  • @SmileCavy86

It'll be a miracle if women go back to being that positive image...

  • She is, and its good to find a woman with strong voices who simply just sing, and don't play around with their voices to show off how good their voices are. She just lets her songs speak for itself. I think its sad that Diva's have been turned into something it is not.

  • I wonder was she mixed, with Korean or something? She has that beautiful oval shape to her face and slant to her eyes, I was just wondering, does anyone know?

  • @SmileCavy86 she is gorgeous isnt she .... a very romantic sound

  • @SmileCavy86 she had a caucasian father and a japanese mother as far as i know, was raised in hawaii as well!

  • @MrDeclanhenry

Actually she is Chinese/Japanese/Irish. But you were close though.

  • Respond to this video... she has a caucasian father and a japanese mother

  • i love the tone of her voice

  • wasnt she in Jesus Christ Superstar..as Mary Magdlane??

  • @joeblowthehot Yes she was

  • @joeblowthehot Yes, she was.

  • I just realized she is wearing the consummate 70s outfit - gaucho pants, angel-sleeved blouse, and dingo boots! Wow!! Complete 1970s package!! I love it.

  • I remember times my love, where we really had it all

You were always there to make me smile, to help me when I fall

Oo I cant believe your leaving me, when theres so much more to say

I can't let you go, Oo everytime I look at you, I still can feel the glow

Let it be, let it grow

Oo Love me please, just a little bit longer, together we can make it,

Our love is much to young to break it

Such a sad song =( I had to write lyrics because people like to sing it but dont listen to the song x

  • classy in the way that the female vocalists of the 70's were. such incredible poise and restraint. She didnt have to do all the noisey vocal gymnastics to belt this sweetly soothing song out.

  • @blitzgreg1 and she sounds amazing.. her voice is a gift.

  • @blitzgreg1 You're so right. What passes for music nowadays has become atrocious due a lot by these "vocal gymnastics" that singers in recent years have used. Yvonne Elliman and other pre '90s singers have such a great style compared to what I consider this showing off style of modern singers that makes them sound like a kid with no talent singing karaoke.

  • @Rachel70611 You totally get it

  • @blitzgreg1 Might it have something to do with the fact that they were more talented than today's "singers"?

  • True classic. Brilliantly written by the Bee Gees and beautifully sung by a stunning woman!

  • Love this song and Yvonne she's one of my faves of that time and still is.

  • Love her voice and exotically beautiful!

  • Pretty lips. Back when sexy lips were real.

  • Mary Magdalene rocks.

  • I love her voice.

  • great voice.

  • I listen to this entire song to get to 2:13 - Favorite part of it! I wish this verse was in the song more!!!

  • @TypesALot Agree completely. Phenomenal song. One of the best female vocalists ever. She should have seen more success.

  • @TypesALot I'm totally with you on that. It sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it.

  • @TypesALot Totally agree with you

  • @TypesALot I think that was the idea ... to make you begging for that part to be repeated :)

  • Few woman are this attractive these days... No make-up and they look like blokes. A

  • You know what...she is a hottie!!

  • The person who pressed the 'dislike' button needs to get their hearing checked.

  • This would have been a perfect duet, her and Robin Gibb who sang lead on the Bee Gees recording, although Robin's older brother Barry sang the bridge.

  • love this song xxx

  • The original Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar... If I were Jesus, I couldn't have resisted.

  • @izzonj IF HE WOULD HAVE WE'D ALL BE DOOMED.

  • @izzonj IF HE WOULD HAVE WE'D ALL BE DOOMED

  • @izzonj IF HE WOULD HAVE WE'D ALL BE DOOMED..
