IMO, his hit wasn't "meant" to do the damage it did, but when you see clean footage, not the scaled down version here from my upload, you SEE an intent at the end of the hit where he snapped his shoulder INTO Hossa. I agree that Pronger and Simon are worse, but it isn't that you were intending to injure to make the action wrong. Clearly, this is proven with a high stick penalty, you must control your stick, a high stick is penalty, intent is mute. Bergenheim needed to use better judgment. IMO.
