St. Anger wasn't the best, some parts would sound better in different orders (Or songs) however, it did have potential. Take for example, this amazing demo.
well, theres a chance they would still be around even with the breakdown, but maybe not without hetfield, but gratefully they made it through and are still the best metal band still around today
haha first i couldnt think this was st. anger or even metallica hahahahha :P but this is quite a good song. I'm actually glad they did NOT make the songs as this. would've been ok, but that would be too much load/reload/black album style. none of this really heavy stuff.
YESSS this was used in the part where they are going on tour after the prison visit. I nearly teared up when this song played and the caption said "metallica will start touring."
@Wiiwillrockyouup Yes, I understand they had some "anger" issues during the time. If they didn't make such a poor production choice, St. Anger would have been solid and not getting so much hate.
@Wiiwillrockyouup As far as the production values are concerned St. Anger was definitely their worst, though I will say that if the quality of the recordings had been better (especially in terms of the drums) I would like it much more than I do. I think it's a real shame that the quality of the album is so poor compared to their other releases because the album definitely had some good riffs (Some Kind of Monster and Sweet Amber for example).
@Ita3rd uhhh obviously your music player is broken because it sounds fine, and lars drums were snares for that album, also you havent been listening to metallica that long obviously soif your wondering why it seems st. anger diffrent from all the others, its because they were doing through hardships at the time and were just pissed off at eberything
@Wiiwillrockyouup I've been listening to Metallica for a while actually (in fact I'm a member of the Met Club and I saw them live back in October). I know all of the history behind St. Anger but that doesn't change the fact that the album was produced poorly. Like I said in my previous post, though, I think there were some good riffs and ideas on that album but it just didn't trip my trigger. I do kinda like "My World," though, and I have a soft spot for the "Some Kind of Monster" riff.
the truth st anger

@Ita3rd Damn I wish people would realise how unique of an album St. Anger is, but I guess not everyone ends up with a life that St. Anger symbolises.
