Stupid question: I started playing quake live about a month ago, but this seems like double the speed of my game... is this a mod that makes things faster or is this guy just fantastic?

quake has a phisic engine that allow skilled player to do some trick... you can go a lot faster than usual by "strafing". it is a technique.. and it is not the only one.. there are others like rocket jumping and so on... and there are mods that amplify this.. google for "quake tricking". i advice you three mods: "OSP", "Rpcket Arena", "deFrag". The last one is for tricking training mainly :)

CPMA is the main mod you need and it's what they are playing here. OSP still uses the standard Quake 3 physics which are terribly limited to CPMA physics which are being used in this vid.

it has many part as parody of the Annihilation: the begin, the middle where there is that guy writing on a keyboard :D (the original video has a lot of suspance part that it seems it was going to end). Then the part where it goes multi-color :)
