Thinking of George harrison on his birthday, listening and watching vids of him and the beatles, such a big part of my life and so many others, now a long time since george and john left us, missed a lot, loved george dearly from the early days, love for john came later, but all the beatles loved, special forever.x
Love this song for a long, long, long, TIME. I still remember when that album came out and played it over and over again. IT came out at Christmas time I think.
I drove 4 hrs to see it and came back the same day I mean night lol. took my wife and 7 yr old son and 4 yr old daughter also they are my little singers we do songs like your gonna lose that girl, here comes the sun ect way to much fun :)
On Jan 4th 2012 I went to the LA Grammy Museum and saw George Harrison's the Living in the Material World display they have running until Feb 12 2012, was great they showed his Sitar and the outfits he wore from The concert for Bangladesh, Help movie, Concert at Shea, His pychedelic guitar from I am the walrus, Hand written songs like Here comes the sun, All things must pass, Something ect, even where he scratched out and changed lyrics.
@Chatticathi,I agree with you 100% on that comment because musically John Lennon wasn't all that great and Paul is as well as Ringo is the boring Beatle.
Thank you for creating this video montage. My 3 year old watches it over and over.
When my favorite Beatle passed on in Los Angeles, I remember thinking, "Oh..its ok, it'll be all right..because 'he's still here" based on his spirituality. However, now that I've watched the new Scorsese film about him, I'm having a new kind of mourning, tears an all, held in after all these years. What music!
@marcusbarone I've just watched that wonderful Scorsese film and heard this song in a completely new light. Burst into tears as soon as it started playing at the end. He wrote some incredibly beautiful music.
hey, do you see the dislike bar? yeah, neither do I. :D But seriously, amazingly deep and emotional song. Harrison is my favorite Beatle of the four outstanding musicians and individuals.
I used to listen to this song early in the morning over and over in order to prepare for a day of hell in high school. His lyrics, his voice, the sitar and Ringo's drumming merged together to produce transcendence.'
This song is ethereal, soulful and saved me thirty years ago.
Great tribute to George!!! I am a long time Beatles fan, but have never seen such a fine George montage. Ringo and George always took the backseat to John & Paul, but the Beatles were not who they were w/o them all, even if J&P did write most of the songs - the others contributed a lot, including George Martin (producer). Thanks...
This is a great Beatles song let alone a great Harrison song. As a guitarist I find it amazing (and refreshing) that Harrison intentionally let the "fret buzz" from his guitar stay in the song and be part of the texture of the song....listen at 00:19. This had to be intentional
I believe it is about past life lovers, it could be about religion too. It depends on the situation you are passing thru, it can interpreted the way it fits better to yourself.
@4fulsealteam thats just it!! Ringo was a technical drummer...a damn good studio drummer..could play bongos, maracas, tamborines, etc. wasnt trying to outdo anybody on drums(Buddy Rich, Keith Moon, etc). he was perfect for what the Beatles wanted him to do!
When I bought "The Beatles" (the white album) I could not stop listening to this song, I consumed me. The album in general as well as their catalogue is perfect.
it's very very sad to look at him and think hes dead
so why not think hes alive instead it doesn't really matter to me because it's not like i would have met him in the first place i would never meet any beatle so they are all alive and young to me
so spiritual...don't know if it had much to do with patty boyd. probably more with God. sounds almost like one of the psalms, with were also songs to God
George's voice is just so amazing. I love you George, rest in peace :'(

The first of dozens of Harrison love songs that are ambiguous in that he could be singing either to his lady or to his Lord.

What a beautiful man. Definitely on par with Lennon and McCartney at song writing, and sometimes I am tempted to say even better.
I love his little grin he always seemed to carry, as if he knew something everyone else didn't. Maybe he did.
