@illdaddyrod I am not sure right now. If you have an extra one laying around, send it to me and I'll check! When it's released, I will know a few days after. I'm planning to upgrade, if I can get a good discount on it.
Worked great on my Droid 3. I have some experiance messing with my phone but I was pretty nervous about this. Messing with the radio can go wrong in big ways!!! If you watch VERY CLOSELY and do exactly what he shows you should be fine. Thanks for a great video!!!
@calebmmi It should work if the numbers you are seeing are the same, BUT I wouldn't recommend tethering with the droid 1. When I had mine, I had rooted it and used the wi-fi Tether app, and the phone would eat its battery, and get well over 100 degrees F. with very little usage.
I would have tested it for you, but that phone was stolen from me.
Works, but with some headaches. Couldn't get it to work at all on my 64 bit desktop, followed instructions exactly, but I couldn't get data card drivers to install. Went to the folder and installed manually, still didn't work. Droid was installed and Explorer popped up with it, but RC light remained red. Repeated the process on my 32 bit laptop, and when I plugged the phone in the light changed colors, I think red-yellow-purple, then stayed at purple. I proceeded anyways, and it worked.
@Stonehenge81 For this workaround to be nullified, it would take a firmware update to the phone, Not just an android update. And even then, you would be able to change it right back to the way it was after the update, unless they changed the element IDs. I can confirm that you can put different roms on your phone without nullifying this hack. If you are familiar with computers, its like this hack changes the BIOS settings of the computer, so you can load whatever OS you want on the computer.
@ar0n7676 Without changing the BIOS settings at all. If you updated the BIOS of the computer, you normally have to change your setting back to the way that you want them to be.
Another thing to consider is that this hack is making it appear to Verizon that ALL of the data coming out of the phone is data which the phone is using. the three different numbers identified the data as wifi tethering, mobile data, and usb tethering if I remember correctly. So now, All Verizon sees is Mobile Data.
@MzDayz7 I don't think it will, but I will look into it as soon as I get home. Give me about 2 hours and I will have an answer for you posted. If it will not work, I will bust out my droid 2 global and show you how to get tethering on it. (Almost identical to droid2 method).
Are you comfortable rooting your phone to get tethering?
@MzDayz7 From what I have read, it will not work on droid 2. It's possible that no one has tried it with the droid 2, and as long as you see the exact same numbers that are in the comments section of the video, you should be able to make it work. Verify that the numbers that are being read from the phone are the same that the droid 3 has, if they are the same, then the hack should work. Make sure you back up your numbers in a text file somewhere.
@datsik921 Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate it! If there is anything else you would like to know how to do with your phone, (or most electronics) let me know!
Works like a charm on a droid 3!

@azflamekiller I appreciate you taking the time to write back! The whole idea was to make it easy to do if you can follow directions :)

I couldn't get this working like many of you... so if you wanna hack wifi listen up:
Go to mobilewifihack,com
OR
Put "/watch?v=Nuh8UKibvhc" after youtube.com (without quotes)
They have a working wifi hack I've used it countless times.

Question, what are the chances of Verizon applying an update that would nullify this workaround?
