  • How much does it costs to repaint a car ?

  • @CallOfQuebec $400 to $3000. depends on the quality.

  • @CallOfQuebec

depends on what you want mate your your looking for a quick respray could cost you 200-500 bucks ive seen jobs go up to 10000 bucks with works custom air brushing etc

prices range depending on time and quality of the paint Acrylic or 2 Pak

you might get some people who will do it for 100 bucks if you supply the paint and do all the prep work yourself be careful though job may lack in quality

  • Pretty tidy job...except for whatever that paint stripper you used on the hood got sanded into the primer or metal of the hood cause you guys didn't wipe it down before you sanded it so now the hood is gonna bubble...otherwise cool.

  • Red Integra in the back at the end!

  • Not bad guys! Like svt5life said, slow down and paint a bit more wet.. otherwise youll be left with lots of hammertone that you will have to touch up or worse, leave.

Great vid guys, looking forward to your new subaru mod vid :)

  • You can always sell the bad paint job cars to p-platers! haha!

  • Orbital sanders <3

  • I worked on a few rav 4s when i did my work exp with school, they are great things to work on :)

  • should of done painting regret panel beating painting is so fukin easy

  • why isn't this on the main?

  • i doubt that was moogs subie at 8:09, they drove in with a white car which leaves me to guess he got a WRX STI, i couldnt believe that he'd get a legacy like marty

  • Moogs subaru at 8:09?

  • what was the yellow sponge used between color coats?

  • @olov244 Its called a Tack Cloth

  • this vid should be on the main utube channel..

  • Great Paint shop, my wife's family always get their Prado's fixed there...

  • And all this time and effort is now what I think about whenever I'm an indecisive bitch about my car colour on Forza 4.....

    Sorry computer paint-shop people!

  • wonder if you can use acetone to remove the base coat, or even down to metal

  • How Much dose somthing like this cost

  • how much did this cost?? my car needs almost a whole respray just wondering about prices

  • This place is at Padstow in Sydney on Davies Rd.

  • Im not sure but i think i saw the civic being drivin yesterday near Campbelltown. and i must say it doesn't look that bad

  • @muscat0 Well it's possible because there is only one more day left on the ebay auction.

  • This is a great video, i always thought spray painting was easy but it just goes to show how hard it really is :O

  • turbo rav-4 new car work maybe?!!??!

  • This makes me wanna paint my car.

  • I'm studying body and paint at college, and have to say this video is extremely accurate. Its cool to see some decent painting on this channel!

  • Awesome review MCM....more stuff like this pls.

  • can you make a homemade paint booth?

  • put a dust extractor hose on your orbital sander

  • this wasnt in my subbox, thanks youtube

  • I would like to see something like this, but with touch up painting. I know you've made a video about how to paint a bumper, but you used a painting gun. I more often see stone chips and small, light scratches, so I would like to know how to repair this kind of damage by myself using a little brush. Also, how much time must pass until I can wash or wax a painted car?

  • @88Hawk2 I pretty much do what you asked for a living, and I can give a couple of hints.

After typing out the first 2 steps and running out of room, I decided that if you want a good "how to" let me know and I will PM or email it to you.

  • @1dlesniper I read not one, but many articles about this kind of repairs, but still I would like to SEE how to make the paint look the same, like the paint that hadn't been damaged (the same hue & saturation). I have 2 chips on my front left fender and I have some paint that my car painter gave me. It's green metallic, but I don't have the clear coat, so it'll look bad. Maybe the main question is: if I've got damaged the clear coat only, can I paint it only with clear, or I need the color also?

  • @88Hawk2

yeah metallic paint is a real bitch to touch up. If the damage is only in the clear coat, yeah you should be able to fix it pretty well with just clear.

I'll give 3 tips that will help if that's the case.

    1) make sure the chip/hole is clean.

    2) use 2 pac clear not single pack, for a couple of $ you should be able to buy a little bit from a body shop.

    3) fill the hole higher than the surface, 2 pac shrinks when it drys.

  • @1dlesniper Thank you very much.

  • this was a really awesome vid, heaps informative love it thanks marty!

  • Is it just me or does Marty's face look like he got hit at 1:50

  • No wonder painting costs so frigging much

  • @hillby also proper 2 pac car paint is very expensive, depending on brand and colour/metalic/etc you're looking at 150-200 per litre.

  • 5:41 its scratched?

  • @sniffsumglu I saw that too, I think it was just dust that has been wiped into a line by his hand, (dust is probly from someone sanding down undercoat nearby).

  • 8:02 the bonnet and quater panel arnt aligned proply

  • nice booth nice guns the sata's and always a great idea to use guide coat when sanding mud or primer

    pretty good one guys...

and marty i wasnt there but i could tell you where painting dry not wet enough and trying to snap fluid to air to soon and trying to flick the wrist dont rush it if you do it enough you will figure it out and it will come natural

  • @svt4life Thanks for the tips, it proved to us just how long it takes to get good at it. It's all about feel.

  • Comment removed

  • @mjdmzn uh sorry but did he had an old subaru ?

  • @mjdmzn i meant when did marty changed his car ? lol

  • @03iamhopeless

NO, I mean MOOG not marty

  • @mjdmzn right, thanks a lot and sorry for my mistake of writing marty instead of moog ><

  • @mjdmzn that could be anyones?

  • @mjdmzn

its got a missing right headlight.. which puts doubt in my mind that its moogs Subaru

  • @mjdmzn THAT'S definitely his, in the video preview for season 3 dvd, you could see moog painting the black bumper that's on the car :D

  • can u come to my panel shop please

  • paint stripper quick tip arfter you add the paint stripper it only eats in for a certian time use glad wrap plastic placed over the stripper so it gets down deeper into the paint!

    _ S&Scustoms-

  • nice

  • Good on ya for going in and getting first hand experience, I can imagine that your cars that you will spray in the future may take you a little longer, but look quite a bit better!

  • This was heaps cool! I'd love to see more stuff like this, how stuff is done :) It's interesting :)

  • Awesome video!

  • amazing :)

  • Put some avocado on them headlights!

  • Hey Marty, with jokes aside, is it possible to fix the dent that my car got in a parking lot by getting hit with the doors of other cars. I know you have a video but I can clearly see it was done for entertainment. I know heating up the paint prevents it from cracking off the car but what method should I use to solve a problem like that!

  • how much does a paint job like this normally cost..

  • @sslankan Between $1k and $2k roughly I think

  • this is the kind of stuff that i would really really love to learn how to do well

  • can you PLEASE do a video on how to restore the headlights like you showed at 7:42?

  • @nitroboyn2o they did a series where they test a bunch of stuff including piss and coke and a few other things.. look back a season. But I'd love to see another in depth one myself.

  • mad lib spec b in the back ground 8:11

  • Whats the song that starts at 3:30? I really like it :)

  • I get butterflies when I see a vid of mcm on my homepage :D hahahahaha

  • out of curiosity ballpark, how much did that cost?

  • lol I can see the "orange peel" on the left rear bumper, did you do that one?

  • Kool. I do this for a living

  • Thanks MCM ! Never knew so much work went into painting a car.

  • Nothing like spending all that preparing it then have someone paint it for you. Marty did the best with what he could painting the civic, it's not like we all have access to a spray booth.

  • Great Video! Cheers from Hong Kong!!!! Keep it up mate

  • tip top vid

  • love it guys

  • Great video, now i know why some paint jobs are so expensive. And i'll know what to look at a paint and body repair work!

  • i meant tape

  • Woahh seems soo hard, I got my new subaru bumper and original bootlid painted cost me 1.6k now i know why it cost so much, but the result isssss soooo worth it!! now my car is clean as f**k.

  • Awesome! I'm gonna watch this video before I paint my car.

  • i didnt even recognize marty with the glasses on

  • That was epic :D But where do you guys keep all the cars you get? And whos car was your test subject this time?

  • looks maad
