It's not Division 12 of SS (Hitler's Youth), it's actually Wehrmacht. The movie is about a group of teenage friends who are drafted into Wehrmacht. One day after the draft they get into service. Their teacher asks the military they get a place in the face where they dont die, they are young. They are assigned to a unimportant bridge to defend it (the bridge was going to be demolished anyway). They defend it and hold it against some american armor and support infantry. Some die.

When taking account their age and experience, the Hitler Youth performed very well in battle. The reason why teenagers were sent to fight was because Germany truly was fighting for its existence and the preservation of their culture and way of life. The tearing apart of Germany by American style capitalism mixed with cultural Marxism is a testament to the accuracy of Hitler's and Goebbel's predictions about what would happen to Germany if they lost the war.

The American soldiers are supposed to be behind the thier tank. It's basic infantry tactics -- it's cover. Amazingly Hollywood stupid. All the Americans are all armed with Thompson sub machine Guns. Not one M-1 Carbine or the basic sqaud weapom - the M-1 Garand. Something is rotten in Denmark.

@Zdutchman123 It is supposed to be a Sherman; however, it appears to be a T54/55 Russian. The M48 Patton made its debut after WW II. The M-60, medium battle tank was standard T/O for the U.S. Army and the USMC until it was replaced by the M-1.

All these soldiers look far too CLEAN! This is 1945. Soldiers by this time should look battle worn/weary and filthy, especially the invading US soldiers! Who ever made this should have watched "Band of Brothers" which looked very realisic! Get a grip!!

@petrwarry yes this is a remake of 2008 by a german tv channel....the acting is not of great quality compared to the original , but the images are in colour !

this movie's sounds are not good , there was a sort of poor sentimental music when the germans were defending their Vaterland....I made it better ^^
