We can't blame them for knowing the potential dangers, I guess. That volcano poses far less of a threat than the mud slides that wash away Malibu, California, every year - THOSE people need a good slap if'n ya ask me.

Don't know if you watch Dr Who but actually it was him that caused all the damage at Pompeii by escaping from the mountain in an escape pod. Of course that was classified info until recently so all the guide book writers invented some nonsense about a volcano

Looks fun to explore though i watched something a few months ago on the history channel i think about pompeii brothels it said there were alot and a very large sex trade so now everytime i hear the name i think of some old school roman porn music.

Well, the history is interesting and all, but they should really knock down some of those rickety old broken walls and put up something really nice, like a Starbucks or something. Quite a dangerous situation the way it is.
