The tiny beige fruit is longan (Chinese for dragon's eye). The whitish coconut is young coconut (more edible than the mature coconut). The small banana bunch is apple banana (very sweet). Finally, the golden mangoes are super sweet and juicy, found only in Thailand.

Thanks for the clip. This gives me a brilliant idea to make this kind of clip for my French students who are learning Thai. I don't know if you have a chance to go to the real open air market where local people go to shop for their daily life. That is interesting as well. I guess that this supermarket is on an island or something. That's why they have more things than those supermarkets in towns.

It reminds me of the stores in Mexico. I was amazed at all the packaging too. Thai looks more interesting than Espanol, but still cool. One thing that drove me crazy is that in America your supermarkets are pretty much on crossroads or major areas, well in Mexico they're in neighborhoods and the middle of nowhere. Everything is oven to the air as far as breads and rice go.

from pictures ive seen of Thailand its beautiful, especially one picture i saw of a Market place i think they said it was outside of Thailand where you just rowed your boat up to a dock and you tell them what you want and they get it for you

First one was tamarinds and the second were lychee. You can get them in some Asian supermarkets here in the US. I'm Thai and my grandma always has both of these. xD

Yes, that brown clustered fruitnis definitely longan. It has a smoother skin than lychee.

And the mangos in Thailand are absolutely insane - so good!

The drink you thought might be alcoholic is actually a sugar cane drink that tastes like coconut juice..it's really good, you should try it.

Dear Ghost, if I may enlighten you. This is not a 'super'market but rather a local grocery. A Thai supermarket would be more like BigC, Carfour, Lotus or something. The original Thai "fresh" markets are being put out of business by the giants companies.

There are many different types of bananas in Thailand. The processed bananas you showed in the box are probably the sun dried variety and mixed with honey-thus the 'funky' smell. The "pumpkin" was actually a squash. Oooops, no space to comment.

@kawilik As a "Farang" I would prefer t go to Big C to buy my stuff. I like Big C because they put the price on the food. I don't want to find out the price of the food when I have it at the register. There is a Korean store down the street from my house that does that and I hate buying anything there. I was in Thailand with a Filipino guy, and he would not say anything and just hand the Thai person the money when buying something. They thought he was Thai and he would get Thai price.

They have the first two fruit you showed in Colombia. The green one is called mamoncillo, the outside is green but its kind of a light orange inside and the center is a large seed which is bigger than the edible part. They can stain your teeth if you eat to many but they taste very good!

The bananas in Thailand are natural bananas. The bananas you get in Europe and America are genetically modified to taste better and have smaller seeds and more "meat".

The little light brown round fruit you pointed out early on after the tamarind are called "dragon eyes," a translation of the Chinese name for it, "longyan" or "loong yen." I don't know what the Thais might cal them. I love those small bananas. Hawai'i has a similar species, which they call "apple bananas," which I think taste better than the bananas that are sold in No. America. Hope you got to try fresh rambuttan and magosteen! I really enjoy your vlogs. Thanks!

Did you notice the difference in taste of the soda overseas compared to the U.S.? I can't really explain the taste but the carbonation and the after taste is a bit different.
