I have the same problem with the bottles not spraying. I get mime from WalMart. Haven't come up with a solution yet. Think Target may carry the same bottle. Where else would you suggest that won't cost me an arm and a leg?
I have a few spray bottles that I bought from Michael's, I think from the paint section. They sell them separately. Those work well for me. I have a lot of my homemade sprays but have used water, re-inkers (water based) and PearlX. After seeing this I need to make more using alcohol and paint instead. Very nice....TFS!
Yes I have been doing this for awhile. My biggest problem is finding good spray bottles. The three set like you shown from Dollar Tree or Dollar General dont' work very well. I have a huge water bottle from the garden section I used to make a big batch of blue..TFS-Terrie I think the reason is what havign issues is too much paint b/c I found just a little goes a long way.
@cherry2425 The bottles from Target usually work really well. I'm going to pick up a couple from Sally's beauty supply today and will try to remember to let you know how they work out. TFW :)
I enjoy your tutorials and experiments so much! Thanl you for this...now I know to pick up some alcohol when I go out today! I'm def going to try this. Thanks so much for takking the time to do the experimenting for us! :)
Kat, I have never heard of using alcohol but I have made mine with water, metallic paint and a bit of liquid hairspray. I love that you doing these tutorials for us, lots of great info. I may just have to try it with the alcohol, tfs
@KimScrapper Thanks so much. Try the alcohol, all mine are made with water too but the alcohol works so well I'm going to dump mine out and remake them!
@thekatsmeow1969 I am way ahead of you, I picked up a big humungus bottle at Wal-mart yesterday. I definately will be making with alcohol. Thanks again, Hugz
Great Tutorial, i just wanted to let you know that if you have a Sally's beauty supply they have these bottles and they also have little tubes that look like mini misters.
thanks for this tutorial. i just bought the paint and bottles so we'll see how it looks especially since i am a newbie crafter and never used glimmer mists before. :o)
Kat, I found some of those spray bottles at Joanns for $1 each. They sell them individually. They were on an end cap closer to the fabrics at my Joanns. You might want to check it out. Thanks for showing this! I've been making my mists w/ paint and water. I am also experimenting with using reinkers. I'll have to try the alcohol. TFS! --donna--
The colors are great aren't they? I have noticed that the more paint you put in, the more of a stream comes out. Does that make sense? Basically, the thicker the spray, the thicker the stream. Play with them, adding less paint. Great tut!
Great idea...but does the alchol leave a smell on the page? and also if it does how long does the smell last....i love the spray box idea as well..i think it is spraying like that because there is to much paint add less paint to the bottle..maybe that will work..let me know...great tip can't wait to make some..TFS..hugs Deb
@mommytomario To be honest, I didn't smell the page or notice a smell (lol) I will try less paint and see if that works better. Thanks! I may do a second video when I figure out the perfect bottle/combination so keep your eyes out :) TFW!

@alanappeal It wasn't the bottle it turned out that it was the alcohol. That being said, the Target bottles work the best for me. :)
