By USDA laws any meat that has a grain added top it MUST list the grain. This means that all you have to do is read the ingredients. No wheat, rye or barley listed, it's GF. End of story.
This is a rediculous video. Turkey is meat. Meat is gluten free. What about beef? Are they injecting cattle with gluten, as well these days? lol silly woman.
Well you are correct, most manufactorers inject meat with seasoning. These seasonings can (and many do) contain gluten. Therefore, many frozen and processed turkeys we can not eat. Also, we can not cook stuffing in the turkey are it will contaminate the turkey with gluten. Please educate yourself on Celiac and gluten before you reply. It is this misinformation on gluten free diets that makes it more difficult for us Celiacs.
Something you folks might try is brining the turkey. Alton Brown on Food Network has a great writeup on brining a turkey. Osmosis is a wonderful thing.
Amen to that! I have Celiac and I bring my own food - everywhere! I do not want to rely on someone who doesn't understand cross-contamination and gets me sick because they didn't use a separate pan or spoon for my food. I also do not want to put my host/hostess in the situation of having to get a crash course in cooking gluten free! There are too many things that can go wrong.
thank you for the gluten free recipes... I'm autistic (high functioning) and even though have very subtle symptoms, want to give gluten free foods a try...
I took care of an elderly woman with Celiac Sprue. It's nothing to mess around with and very difficult to eat gluten free. It was a nightmare keeping track of her diet. I'm glad to see this video out there and wish it was when I was taking care of & cooking for her.

Nicely done!
Glad we're not gluten sensitive - I make Seiten often (vegetarian meat substitute).

In fact, most people have a slight gluten sensivity. Expecially people from northern countries tend to have more problems with gluten.
