what GHz and GB is your pc / laptop cos i am getting a desktop pc with.. Processor AMD Athlon II X2 215 Processor - 2.7 GHz - 2 GHz HT - 1 MB cache Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit RAM - 2GB installed DDR3 RAM - Supports up to 4GB maximum RAM Graphics card ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3000 Series Hard drive 320GB 7200rpm SATA Audio interface 5.1Ch High Definition Audio will fsx run? will REX 2 run? will it all run smoothly with REX 2 on my computer? please reply asap. thanks
make a movie showing more of this add on because less then 1 minute isn't making me think about bying it and those QA are less important because people are just to simple and ask something before they read ;)
yeh REX is out, but it takes ages on download in for install, its no FS globe, it just deals with the weather effects and what not. if you are looking for a FS globe then id look in to Ultimate Terrain X ( USA or EURO) but have a good card, i have the Evga275 (ssc) i got it cheep and im getting 40+ Frames all the time.
like what he said about the specs of a computer should have to run this game, you should have the core 2 duo(e8400 would be enough to get what fps he gets) and some kind of latest gfx card..
Newer hardware doesn't get much of an fps increase... coz this game was created on 2006-2007..
only 20 lol i have 4gb of ram an intel E2160 @3.10ghz , ATI 4850 and 4gb drr2 800mhz and i usually get 30-40 in flight or more, at airports i get 20-30, if theres alot of traffic like at hethrow then i usually get 17-25, check my channle if u want to see.
Are there any benchmark (tests) to compare the speeds of duo core and quad core cpu´s? When I bought my computer some weeks ago, I asked myself which one would be faster: my quad core qith 2,83 GHz or a duo core with 3.20 GHz. However, the salesman said, my quad core would be better for gaming.
Do you also have a ASUS-Motherboard and the EPU-6 engine? If so, how much percent can you increase the CPU speed without the danger that it would be damaged?
Is the problem of the plane who is sometimes not regocnizing the ground (you know, it´s 50% under the floor, especially when driving on the ground and climbing a mountain) solved in FS Global?
Hey Steve, as a long time follower I know you have a decent system with good FPS. Most probably you will not noticed it, but by any chance, does REX has improve your FPS in any way? I heard it does and I have been wanting to purchase it but my system gets 40 to 50 FPS with payware add-ons and 35 FPS with the Light Bloom feature on which I don't use. That is the only thing that has stop me from purchasing it, but now since you have it you can give us the reality about the REX fps improvement. Thx
From my limited usage of the software so far, I have found gains in FPS under 80% of the scenarios I have been attempting. Another 10% of the time I see no change in the default FSX and the REX enhanced FSX. There is about a 10% occurrence, for me at least, where I will experience a notable FPS loss.
I have found issues with FRAPS and REX but that is a totally different story.
Overall, REX has improved FPS for me even though my system already handles FSX well.
It doesn't look the same as the FSX version, I think they should port REX as a version for FS2004, what's free on their websites is REP Real Environment Professional, but I think they should make the REX available for FS2004 as well, just make it work with it, the clouds, etc.
Well, I guess that depends on what you see as spectacular, I think REX is the savior of FSX, in my opinion, but it's not worth buying, in my opinion, as many don't use FSX anyway, due to it's outrageous demands on the system, even though I can't play FSX period, when I get my Q6600, I am not going to just make the switch to FSX, I am gonna stick with FS2004, it just seems better, in my opinion, FSX is nothing more than a visual improvement.
i have a Q6600.. in fsx with medium high/ high setting i have my limit set to 30 fps so there is no stuttering and i get 30 fps the majority of the time i dont have the best graphics card tho.. but fsx is all about the cpu
oh ya the demands for the graphics a scenery and traffic a brutal! and you need expensive cards and prossescors and stuff. i mean fs2004 is great considering it was made in 04 and its just i think 10 years since the first on that came out.
Fine with me, FSX has had more bugs, than FS2004, explains why FSX has had 2 SP plus that Acceleration Pack w/ SP2, FS2004 had only 1 update, and that was for autogen.
Yes. There's a hit when there are a lot of clouds on-screen, and there's some stutter and pausing when it loads in updated real time weather. If I use the HD clouds, it takes a bigger frame-rate hit too.
I can deal with that because it looks so good. It doesn't turn my game into a slideshow thank goodness.

Thx, maybe I have a bad GPU, but I don´t think so, because it´s quite new (GTX 275) and it happened also with all my former GPU´s.
Hewson60 2 years ago
The GTX 275 should be pretty descent, although it doesn't sound like a graphics card problem, sounds like a problem with the fsx game engine

I think so, too. I think, it´s a bug.
