It's a scam. In 2007 a special autoexec.cfg appeared on the net providing very high settings in dx9 as well. It was a big hokum and dx10 promo what Crytek confessed later. Dx9 also has color grading and sunrays, what I don't know exatly is what about per object motion blur. Don't you ever wondered why Crysis Warhead doesn't have these limits? Because at that time it was obvious that the audience won't buy this hokum. Therefore this video is purely pointless.

And -I presume you didn't know- dx10 is a dead-end, not compatible with the dx9 api AND does the math on only one cpu core. Fortunately the 11 api has arrived. So much for your intel.

DirectX 9: better color quality(more realistic), faster(lighter than DirectX 10) but it doesn't have an advanced motion blur.

DirectX 10: really advanced and beautiful motion blur, but not realistic colors(the ship doesn't look as frozen as it should be) and slower(heavier than DirectX 9).

It looks like DirectX 9 is better, but i still have a DirectX 10! Lol :-D

Settings seem to be on high (highest is very high). As you see, DX9 doesn't support a load of features, as well as being less optimized, and it has less capability than DX10, for example the latter supports better water, shadows, lighting, particles and sound, as well as being better optimized than DX9. Oh, and DX9's color looks different because it doesn't support color grading (look it up on Google).

Why do people still belive that it is a matter of Dx version?, it's a pre-programming issue matter, if a game is programmed using Dx10 codes it obviously won't run so nice on Dx9 mode, but at the inverse hand, it'll do nothing.

The only real difference between DX10 and DX9(with forced very high settings) is the motion blur and slight color difference..

In DX9 it has simple motion blur that is affected by the speed of screen motion. DX10 has full, cinematic quality object-based motion blur. It's possible to force the motion blur on DX9, but it with varying results. Works ok on some objects, terrible on others.

The FPS difference is obvious. Though, I feel it's worth it. Some may not.

The only thing that directx10 does in Crysis is that it makes AntiAliasing compatible with Ambient Occlusion and Paralax Occlusion Mapping.Of course these are available in directx 9 aswell but with AA there are small graphical errors that can be spoted in some places.

To make Crysis work at Very High settings in XP do the following:
