@no1aviator same here, I sold the xbox 360 that my tv was bundled with after playing with it, I then bought the ps3 and decided the ps3 was superior it many ways.

@no1aviator - Well, I own both consoles and I like them for their strengths (I don't care about their weaknesses) and hence I enjoy them both for what they offer gaming. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, so I'm fine with anyone who prefers XBox or PS3 more, but it's wrong to attack others just for liking one more than another, and it's wrong to generalise people. Hence attempts to build charisma, become happy, and increase high self esteem shouldn't be achieved by putting others down ;-)

PS3: Bluetooth - Bluray - Controller auto charge function (no additional attachments) - Plug and play feature (copy and paste Mp3/movies directly onto the hard-rive) - Free online gameplay - 3D compatible movies. Xbox 360: Detachable hardrive.... That's all xbox has over the Ps3. So PS3 wins by a long shot :D This is not about personal preferences. It's about the power/functions of each console.. and so far.. PS3 has alot more features than xbox 360.

@no1aviator - These are both GAMES machines, hence anything else is fluff, nice for some but fluff just the same. Hence I don't care if the XBox 360 can cook my meals, I don't care if the PS3 can drive me to work, like the majority of gamers I'm only interested in these as games machines :-) Therefore I don't play tech specs, I don't play power, I don't play sales figures, I don't play companies, I play games, whatever platform they're on. It's about having fun, not having the shiniest hardware.

@MTMind2 Well as you said before, to each his own. But if you have a PS3 then you have a multi-media entertainment system. If you have an xbox 360, you must also buy a blueray player, doubly surround sound and extra cables and all that other stuff that requires you to spend more money. PS3 is not just a GAME MACHINE!!! That is the whole point. Xbox 360 is just a game machine, so the ideal option would be to get a PS3. At least then you have a GAME MACHINE and an entertainment system together.

@no1aviator - I know the PS3 offers more out of the box, but as I said, from a GAMING perspective that's irrelevent. PS3 has some superb exclusives, but 360 still has great exclusives. Most multiformat games are equal or slightly better on 360 compared to PS3 (for various reasons). PSN is free but XBL is a more solid and feature rich service. I prefer the 360 controller, others prefer DS3. I switch between 360 and PS3 depending on the game. I don't have Wii, but I don't attack it or it's gamers.

And just to add (since I ran out of space), I know the PS3 has more quality exclusives than 360, I know it's CPU is more powerful for calculations (although 360's CPU is more poweful for general code), I know Sony has more developers who push the hardware to it's limts (the same who did that on the PS2, such as Naughty Dog and Polyphony), I know Blu-ray has more space than DVD (although the DVD drive in 360 is faster), I can go into as much tech detail as you like, but it's still about games.

@MTMind2 True, ok you've made your point. From a gaming perspective it is irrelevant, but when you compare console overall, I think PS3 has the upper hand in many respects. It is definitely what I personally prefer out of the two. Simply because of it's functions... I prefer more for less, rather than less for more (money lol). P.S. Wii blows LOL.

But yes, I respect your views on the PS3 and I understand them, it's just that 360 offers just as much for gaming even if it doesn't have all the PS3's bells and whistles. And these consoles are pushing each other to the benefit of us gamers. Hence PSN is as good as it is now because it's been pushed by XBL, and the 360 Slim is that good because it's been pushed by the PS3. Kinect will push Move and vice-versa, and gaming is all the better for it. :-)

@no1aviator - Thanks, but not a developer. Was a computer programmer 20+ years ago (still work in computing, but now as support rather than programmer) and I've been a gamer since the late 1970s. Hence I've followed many generations of gaming technology in detail from rumour to launch and beyond.

- In previous console gens, very little changed in the gaming hardware until the next gen, but thanks to Kinect and Move, new life has been breathed into this gen, hence 2011 should be a great year :)

3. Thats not how the 3DS works, it uses a technology called a Parallax Barrier. look up "How the 3D effects for the Nintendo 3DS will work"

@dudester21397 Well I have a Ps3 not a 360. I never said ps3 wasn't improving on wii technology, I stated that the kinnect was different. The kinnect is using a hands free camera for its new technology. Ps3 is also using a camera, wii didn't do this, they just had a sensor bar. And please dont fool yourself into thinking nintendo was the first with motion sensor they just applied it to video games first. Wii and ps3 both use batons. I don't think MS's will work. Btw the caps make you look stupid

@dudester21397 I think your misunderstanding something very important here. Wii only applied motion sensor to video game. It's been out before but they used it for video games. However the technology was not there and it didn;t turn out as well as intended. Now sony is doing the same thing only the technology is here now. Microsoft os doing what nintendo did in terms of taking something out there and applying ot to video games. Again the technology isn't quite there. tl;dr your stupid.
