Hang on, what about the coat of future one would slap on almost finished models? Isn`t that what most modelers would use this for? I don`t know..right after you colour the recesses on models to keep it locked in or something like that? I`d like to know if this is something i can order on-line..not that i bothered looking ;-) this is a perfect example of one of the setbacks many a modeler outside the U.S. will have to live with. Not being able to procure important elements of this hobby.
I got the similar product at bunnings, its called "long life self shining floor polish" actually they have several very similar products, I tested them out by dipping my finger into the stuff and once dried, compared the finish on my nail and tried scraping it off with car keys, the one mention above seemed the most durable.
It is now called Pledge floor finish with Future shine wax. I tried it and it really works. I just got done removing seam lines from the canopy and it left a horrible scratch and scuffy marks, but Future really did the trick. It acutally dries about 20 to 30 minutes. It's also a good idea to cover the clear part with a small container to keep the clear part from any dust particles and flecks.
I bought a testor model building and finishing guide book. In it, they say that after applying future to your models, you should keep it away from sunlight as it will turn yellow. Is that true?
can you help me find or identify a model making platic substance. It it used to pour intoma small mould into which you place say a fishing fly. The liquid encapsulates the fly then sets clear and solid . Do you know what it is and where i can obtain any ?
Interesting video, I wonder why didn't you emerge the whole part rail in a dish at once to coat every part at the same time? This way you could hang dry them together with a thread.
Great vid just picked some up yesterday it is called pledge with future shine in the states.

Using a brush to take off access can be risky. Dip your clear part ie: canopy and set it on end on some kitchen towel.
the excess will be absorbed by the towel and no brush marks :)

Dipping it, and shaking off the excess in a cardboard box is a good idea too.

Futere can be reused?

Future is great for reducing decal Hazing where bubbles get caught under the film and "silver".
Go metal, future, camo, future, decal, future, dullcoat. then chip paint back to the metal in spots.
