  • i think the best part about this is the fact that the camera lense is so dirty

  • You can't not watch this scene without immediately watching the breakdancing soul scene right after.

  • The director was drunk and high when he came up with this.

  • Even though the old Bad Lieutenant movie could be considered a classic, who can deny it was quite the downer to watch?

This movie had some dark laughs and I found it hilarious that he kept getting more richly rewarded for offensively crossing the line.

    Movie different but not bad.

  • One of those is definitely not an iguana. It's a bearded dragon. :P

  • Shame about the aspect ratio. You know YouTube supports widescreen, right "purotine"?

  • Shame about the aspect ratio. You know YouTube supports widescreen aspects, right "purotine:?

  • this is the worst movie i have ever seen in my life. how the hell do you honestly sit there and say this was a good movie. brilliant? how about just plain retarded. biggest waste of 2 hours in my life watching this movie.

  • It's the best film of 2010!

Those who say no don't know dick.

Those who say Nicolas Cage can't act don't know film.

Raising Arizona, Wild At Heart, Bringing Out The Dead, Leaving Las Vegas, Adaptation etc?

Yes he's starred in some dud actioners, but films like this he's nothing but immense.

  • @footyspez Everybody that I talked to hated this film. But I fucking loved it. This and the dancing soul scene are just pure genius.

  • @footyspez Cool story brah, except this movie came out in 2009.......

  • @coryboy345 Because we all know Wikipedia is the epitome of truth, you'll find that some parts of the world didn't receive this movie until 2010. Footyspez could easily be from one of those areas.

  • @CasaiAgicap What part of the world? Who said anything about Wikipedia? I'm talking about reality, the movie came out in 2009...

  • @footyspeZ RELEASE ME.. 2 LEAVE.. Doamnenu ma satur e super shootingu asta oricat as fi de suparata ma ridika...::)

  • Best scene if seen in years -seriously! ....and i do watch a lot of movies...

  • I couldnt stop laughing during this scene

  • what is the song in this scene?

  • What's supposed to be so good about this scene?

  • @sirhobnob1 i don't think anyone can explain it to u, it makes click or it doesn't simple as that.

  • @sirhobnob1

Its a fuckin' Iguana on the table, can't you see it? Its right there, I swear.

  • The last time I was this blown away by a scene was, incidentally, Herzog's monologue from Mister Lonely

  • tanyone who wants to be an acknoledged filmmaker, watch this film. completely bonkers and fucking brilliant

  • This is seriously one of the best movies ever!

  • omg this movie is so funny its all about iguanas

  • That iguana's all ... " 'Sup."

  • I love the smell of an existential action movie in the morning.

  • "there ain't no iguana" val kilmer cracks me up when he says that lol

  • I wonder what the Iguanas were thinking...

  • Great scene, haha.

  • @ayment

Quite wierd, & funny all at once!

  • The lesson kids: Dont snort heroin or cocaine!

  • @willyfisterbottomm You don't snort Heroin, even if you did, it would burn the hell out of your nose. But, unless you're crazy, "you don't want no part of this shit".

  • @FDG917 i beg to differ sir, bumping heroin is quite common.

  • @willyfisterbottomm Oh, well, I was unaware. All the people I know who have done heroin (there are a few) have never snorted it. Always smoking or injections. Then again, they never were the guys to try a new way of doing things...

  • @FDG917 no problemo bud, i still dont recommend it though :)

  • @FDG917 it stings no more then coke are meth were the fuck are you from

  • The Wire meets Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. This film has to be seen to be believed.

  • I love this movie. It takes so many chances with these insane scenes, and they ALL WORK.

  • looks like someone missed the "like" button.

  • saw it last night,,, there was only about 12 people and me and my mate were laffing soo much!!!!

  • @xanimeoz Sounds just like the session I watched today! Laughed my ass off with this fucking hilarious scene!!!!!

  • @GrandMasterBison : You dont know shit, motherfucker.

  • @satanhead69 lol

  • esta escena esta genial!!

  • I think you have to be twisted to like this film.

  • 1 dislike. Who is this fool.

  • This scene is so useless, and, so excellent at the same time, i was litterally stunned when i saw it !

  • Johnny Adams Release Me it took me 10 minutes to find that out. lol

  • A BIG LIPPED ALLIGATOR MOMENT!!!

  • totally agree!! those colors are amazing... pure coke... ;))

  • two questions, what the fuck is this all about, and when is it out in UK

  • what's the name of the song, please?

  • LOL LOL great!!!!

  • i wish he acted like castor troy. "this crackpipe is fucking groovy"

  • Now that what I called a Big Lipped Alligator Moment.

  • Freaking funny scene... unbelievable

  • whats the song name?

  • I love how he hits the iguana at the start. Pretty good movie.

  • WHAT THE FUCK

  • Nick cage has been shit lately, which has made me hate him... a lot. But after seeing this movie, I realized he can be a good actor if he actually tries/cares

  • The only way this scene could have been better is if Val Kilmer had said "That ain't no Iguana, that's a Bearded Dragon. The other one's the Iguana."

  • @Bojac i was just going to say lol

  • I watched this movie 6 times and i could watch it another six. If cage can keep up this standard, his career has just started.

  • fucking brilliant

  • cage is in some really crazy, out there roles. that's why i like him. poor guy gets a bad rap, anybody remember how great face/off was

  • @southsydney YES! also Adaptation! and Kick Ass should of been his movie.

  • @southsydney

"anybody remember how great face/off was"

    Sarcasm, right?

  • @VeeDeLarge :O

    john woo! come on man!!

  • @southsydney

Notable John Woo classics: The Killer, Hard Boiled, A Better Tomorrow 2

Watered down American cinema trash: Face/Off

  • @VeeDeLarge I have to disagree with you. First of all, I love the style and action in A Better Tomorrow 2, but as a whole, the movie is a mess plot-wise. A real mess. The first one's the better movie.

And Face/Off is not very subtle, but entertaining as hell. Speedy action, awesome unhinged acting from Cage and Travolta...I like it. It's the best John Woo movie made in Hollywood by far.

  • I was smiling throughout this sequence, and then when Cage slowly looks over at the iguanas at the end, I burst out laughing. Cage is brilliant in this.

  • @bo31411 it had a lot of those moments, totally overlooked movie i think. i guess people didnt get the humor?

  • he he he he he he he he i love this clip :) he he he he he he he he

  • brilliant movie! nic cage is great!

  • e p i c .

  • this movie good?

  • @StuckeyMurdog If you liked this scene then yes

  • omg i was laughing so hard last night when i watched this

  • Oh, really? My comment deserved 3 thumbs up-s, however.:) Look! Someone even replied, yes, I'm right. So I don't think at all I said nothing and I don't want to speak from a high horse. In Hungary, where I live, I've written a review about this film, and no-one had a bad opinion about me or about my thoughts. Maybe my vocabulary could be too much or academic for you, but I don't think that anyone who posts here is a non-intelligent human being, so respectfully, I'd refuse your reaction.

  • Indeed this is an awesome film and fair play to Nick Cage; I despised his over acting and pay-cheque roles for a long time.

Then this came along and changed my attitude towards him.

  • It's actually....Pretty incredible how well this works. Nick's last look down before he begins to tweak is so perfectly placed I got goosebumps. The directing, acting and soundtrack in this film is signature, and at the very least groundbreaking. Herzog has found something here.

  • That's New Orleans for you.

    Lizards, music and all :)

  • I agree with the description, this is witout a doubt one of the greatest scenes in the history of cinema and it stars Nicholas Cage with Val Kilmer and some Iguana's in supporting roles. The funniest part about it is that those Iguana's really are not even there, it's almost like they are enviting the viewer to join Nick Cage on a wacky drug binge Trip. I love this, what a masterpiece this is.

  • This is one of those few films that I wish I could keep going back in time to see for the 1st time over and over again.

  • Terrance McDonagh is like a corrupt Dirty Harry on just about every drug known to man so it makes perfect sense that he would see Iguanas everywhere he goes. I can only imagine what the other officers were thinking when he asked what they were doing on his coffe table. I love this movie and I foundout it will be out on DVD on April 6th.

  • I'm pretty sure it's symbolism. Seeing as how Herzog keeps on going back to animals and such along the course of the movie. Hence the line "Do fish have dreams"

  • in a german newspaper i read that herzog said this iguan scene is not supposed to make any sense at all..he just loves iguans and he just wanted some iguans in his movie :-)

  • What a Trip its that! OMG :D

  • Brilliantly random ballsy filmmaking, Herzog's fucking ace and so is this film.

  • @shadowfilm

I worship this film. Cages character in this has become one of my favourites in Cinema History now. And I'll always love the Cage, gotta check out more of Herzogs films

  • @shadowfilm He really is. Afterall, he made Cage act.

  • i have to admit - it;s brilliant - and the croc section earlier -

  • he s trippin balls

  • LOL wtf did i just see. Could someone explai this seen? Can anyone? Is it even possible to?

  • im so confused haha are they real or no

  • fucking iguanas....can't trust them

  • great scene

  • xaaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • Port of Call New Orleans twists the film noir genre damn hard. The investigation is irrelevant, McDonagh's sufferings are much more important, but according to a noir male hero it's not the conventional logical dimension switch at all. His passion is filled with dark humor, sweat, enervation with animal symbolism (snake, iguana, dog, fish) pathetism-instinctive mixed movements scheming a crazy harshness to a neo noir antihero.

  • Lol no animal symbolism here. Herzog himself said it, he just wanted to show how fucked up McDonagh was and he came up with this scene on the way to the shoot.

  • No doubt, but it's absolutely symbolic, because as you write, Uncle Werner WANTED TO SHOW and this metaphor is fixed in his system. Animal symbolism is a Herzog-trademark: chicken (Stroszek) or pig in Kaspar Hauser. As I can see both of you and me understood its meaning and Herzog's intention. One word or an other, it's in the film, the vision is situated in the cop's ruined imiginary (Lacan, I think:)), it's not a realistic-toned satire so I keep proving my point.:)

  • yes it is true!

  • @Ironbee07 You posted so much, yet said absolutely nothing.

  • c'mon Herzog more iguanacam!!!!!

  • Brutal scene! Great TRIP! Who's singing this?

  • Johnny Adams Release Me

  • I disagree with the description that this is the greatest scene in cinema. That reward goes to "Shoot him again, his soul is still dancing" scene.

  • @testing88534 agreed. that entire scene at that house was great... i was cracking the fuck up. best scene in cinema? dont know about that. one of my favorite scenes in all of cinema was in True Romance with Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper with the talk of the origins of sicillians.

  • At my funeral there will be no eulogy...only this.

  • one of the best movies I've seen in a few years

  • me too

this movie and pulp fiction are the best

  • There ain't no iguana...

  • who`s singing???

  • yes!

  • wth /tv/

  • what the fuck did i just watch
