I have to give it to the rider for not just yanking and pulling the horse into submission. The horse seemed to be having a bit of a hissy fit and the rider just disregarded it. He didn't get into a pissing contest he knew he would lose. Ok horse, you don't want to work? Lets make you do something harder. But he also let go. As soon as the horse gave in, the rider let him have the reins.. I'm not a professional or anything, just stating my opinion. XD
he is a very young horse, you might note by his colour pattern , he is well in hand, his gait changes are done with plenty of show.he cant be more than four, i always laugh a bit when young people throw about a teeny bit of knowledge and make pronouncements based on calling others out on not knowing specialized knowledge.
@babzc he is a steel grey horse, he will remain that color until he is in his late teens early twenties. and even then, he will be dark. Also, they would not be permitted to start a very young horse out on as advanced dressage movements as being displayed here, perfect practice makes perfect, and perfect takes time. (more than a few years time) I'd say this horse is closer to 8-10
@AllAmericanAgility yeah he very disconnected at some spots and he was clearly not asking for the half lavades he was getting lol still good on him for keeping it together. better next time
from 1:38 he starts having trouble with him though. He wants him to passage, but when he trys to bring him down from a canter, he gets all jumpy and twisty on the rider. That horse sure looks good when hes being bad! Most beautiful horse ever. At 2:09 he finally gets a little out of him but then it went out the door. He is likely a very young Andalusian, by looking at his dark grey coloring. I'll have to go check out this show soon
@Hudson2012 I have to agree with you wholeheartedly - this horse was not meant to perform at such a young age in this cheesy "Psuedo-Medieval" arena. It's more than obvious the rider is just "going with it", and the horse is calling the shots. It's not often that I have a negative comment, but as a musician (who knows exactly what Medieval music should sound like), and one who rides horses, this is an embarrassment to the equine world! What a beautiful horse in the entirely wrong environment.
man, i wish it was better quality, but that horse is amazingly beautiful. I once rode an andalusian who looked just like this one. Just as graceful too.
wow, thas an cool video!
