  • I loved the music in this game.

  • OH MY GOD THIS GAME LOOKS SWEET! I was not expecting 1:20 !! How cool!

  • The URL O_o

  • Was a book to

  • EVERY FUCKING TIME

this game reminds me think of speed racer

  • Thanks for reminding me of what a great game this was. :-) Funny, but I remember the cheesy music the most.

  • I always hated fighting that damn crab in area 5 water stage. This brings back memories hahaha!!

  • @jermaineGT Hardest boss in the game imo. I usually make sure my gun gauge is maxed when I fight him, then he's the easiest boss in the game. Hold grenade button down to strafe, face towards him and stay directly under him the entire time if possible. Dead in seconds.

  • I remember playing this game when i was 7-10 years old and couldn't beat it for life of me until I was about 9. The hardest boss for me was the crab because i would lose all my gun power ups before the fight. I remember getting to the final boss and beating the first guy and i was so happy i thought i won but there was a second boss and i got my butt kicked. I finally beat the game and didn't know about the pause cheat or anything like that. So, for those of you who need to use it are NOOBS LOL

  • Used to love this game as a kid.

  • This game probably had one of the best 8-bit musical soundtracks ever. Personally, however, I never cared for the awful storyline (going on a high-tech journey just to rescue a pet frog, for God's sake?!). Plus, the game's controls and overall appearance looks rather bizarre. I mean, a side-scroller involving a tank that can jump on platforms? Seriously? That being said, "Blaster Master" was a great creation, despite its misgivings

  • 1:03, i forgot that there were Metroid's in this game. LOL.

  • For 8-bit that last boss is pretty darn impressive.

  • wow, this game is fucking hard!

When I played it, I could figure out what to do after I beat the 3rd boss. And I thought that this was close to the end :D

  • Sun Corporation of America?

  • It feels like I just went back in time and I am sitting in my cousins basement glued to the screen all over again.

  • They don't make em' like they used to.

  • how did this game get under my radar as a child

  • reminds me of metal slug

  • this is a mw2 killer. bf3 4 life

  • I never finished this game but it was very good and hard of course i was about six when i played it but it was a great game

  • Is it me or does the music sound like Metroid?

  • Thumbs up because my name is Jason

  • so this is where avgn got his music

  • I was about 5 or so when I first played it probably younger I never did finish as I wasn't an evolved gamer like I am now but I hope it makes a return on the 3DS I would purchase it

  • me hiciste recordar muy buenos tiempos de mi infancia... Yo lo termine con muchos problemas!!! Y aqui se nota... Que no tuviste ninguno para terminarlo!!!! You´re awesome!!!! Thnks por publicarlo!!!

  • Wow long video! I can't beat the game D:

  • bags bos lol/

  • @joshiboy4445 Press select.

  • i have 30 years old now, but never is so late.

  • i cry when i see this, becasuse i never had the patience to finish this game. I never pass from the level 3 to the level 4. But after to see this i hopefull to finish it at least.

  • does anybody know how to make jason come out of the car and walk around?????

  • @joshiboy4445

    Select

  • @joshiboy4445

lol, if select alone doesnt work, try select while pressing up or down

  • @jmulford1337 dude, i know exacly how to do it now and select all works fine on its own. 3 months have passed now, i can make jason come out fine ^_^

  • Not putting this down or anything but try doing the same thing without using the start trick on the bosses.

  • @birdmanoo0

you know I really wanted to but I was trying to keep the video under an hour. I honestly don't like using in game tricks to pass parts often but for this I had to. There is also using select to get through doors faster that I didn't use. I figure everyone uses the glitches and crap for speed runs I like speed running without the extra abuse, just the game as is (like in mega man the select trick vs yellow devil). now that youtubes limits have raised maybe I'll do this one again.

  • i use to love playing this....would make to the last level and was never able to beat the big boss....dude u got mad skills

  • Go to your search engine and type "play Blaster Master online". Have fun.

  • This was one of the best games ever made for this system. It never got old or boring... but it sure would piss you off sometimes.

  • i wanna see someone beat boss #6 without abusing the pause glitch

  • i played this game last time 17 years ago

  • I Love this game!

  • I still got this game ( : > )

  • Where did the main character get such an awesome car anyway?

  • Best nes game ever, If only I could erase the memories of this game, so I could re play I for the first time and re figure out the ways by my self. And beating the last boss without the pause trick.

  • I love that this is a speed run by someone who knows so much about the game and still has to farm health now and then, let alone die in the run.

God I love this game. Kudos to you. I'm not sure I could beat some of those bosses today, just with how little life you have and how punishing it is to get hit. Freaking sweet. Maybe I'll go bust it out right now and get demolished after the second world :p

  • Love this game! It takes me about 3 hours to beat. Under 1 hour is crazy fast. You skip every power up just about. The gutsiest thing was attacking the stage 5 boss without a fully powered gun. Beating the stage 5 crab with just grenades is crazy! I always would power up Jason's gun to the max in the area to the right of where you have to land Sophia before you have to exit and explore when first descending. Makes the boss fight much easier, but adds at least 5 minutes.

  • Hahaha takes me back to my childhood, such fond memories I have playing games like these :)

  • this game always pissed my friends and i off we could never figure out where the hell to go then we died

  • when your in human form on a top down level is there a way to jump the water caps. or are those just red hearing to get you killed. I can't find a decent answer for this anywhere on the web.

  • My father and i used to play this a lot when i was like 4-6, it was pretty fun indeed but in the ice stage( idk the real name ) after we kill the boss, we couldn't find the way out anywhere, we got frustrated and eventually lleft tha game. But nevertheless im 19 now, i few week ago we found my nes and start play, we find ourselves in the same stage but now we can pass trought , was pretty cool.

  • i was born in 93 so i missed when these games where big, but that doesnt mean i didnt play the hell, one thing i loved was how hard they were.

  • One thing that kind of buged me about this game is it was rather long and didn't have a password or save feature.

  • @dontralleRoosevelt u hate this game because father use to finger you when you were young and now your a old faget. Don't blame master blaster because your fudge packing cock tipper.

  • This game is like Contra, Zelda and Mario in 1. Looks very fun :)

  • Of course... if you use a turbo controller... :/

  • one more thing. ALL THIS FOR A DAMN PET FROG!!! even as a kid i thought all this was to much for a frog. I 'm sorry if it was my dog i probably would have quit by level 3, 4 at the most.

  • @Cuma9 but you got that bad ass thank that just kept getting stronger. by the time you found the frog you would have forgot why you were there to start with in the first place.

  • one question are u cheating with those grenades or is that really in the game. (cuz im about to try it.)

  • Oh yeah, I love this game so much! Hmm... it's a long time since, you bring me back to the kid again! Sometime I still play NES by Emulator, the old game still fun all the time and difficult well if you play often you'll know what to do, ah and the old many game on NES you just have HP as few point that's why it make game so fun!

    Sorry for my eng :-p

  • I always try and shave off some time by purposefully dying after I beat the area 5 boss and using a continue to get back to the top of the stage. You'll get a few minutes back by doing that.

  • God damn I hated this game as a kid. A platformer with a Micro Machine!? LAME.

  • oh man......this brings me waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back. I remember thinking to myself.... "it'll never get any better than this" now im waiting for Gears of War 3 and Uncharted 3. sigh

  • i beaten this game 3 times , i love this games and i did it without cheat or the pause cheat for some bosses the hardest boss for me its the crab looking thing on lvl5 and the last boss sorta.

  • @linkpwnsevery1 Block monster all the way...and that octopuss in the underwater level...those were insane lmao

  • @linkpwnsevery1 Block monster all the way...and that crab in the underwater level...those were insane lmao

  • first off LOVE the vid. brought back alot me memories of me and my dad playing this game for days and days at a time lol. but i was just curious as to why you used the cheat on some of the bosses but not others that you can use it on

  • i loved this game

  • I thought the boss was a giant ? mark and he never found his frog!

  • I remember being around 4-6 years old and for some reason always being fascinated with the intro. The aerial mode and music from level 1 always remained in my head (I never beat level 1 haha), And when the sophia vehicle takes off, that image will be in my head for a lifetime.

  • @Arsonloke if your wanting to play your old nes games and your nes is broke (like mine) you should consider getting one of these "yobo" nes clones. There super cheap brand new (like$30) and they work probably even better than the original.

  • Comment removed

  • @tknolm dont know why but youtube wont let me post links... i guess just google "yobo nes" the amazon link is probably the best deal..imo

  • this was always one of my favorite games when i was little good time i still have it but my NES is broken

  • This game is hard as balls.

  • Listen to that 8-bit theme! CLASSIC NES!

  • This has nothing to do with anything, but there is a O_o in the URL

  • I love me some Blaster Master :)

So if you die as Jason, you still have to go back and get your tank from the spikes? That's hardcore, nice save there too :)

  • I love me some Blaster Master :)

  • this is the same themesong in pokemon white !!

  • Nintendo hard! F that crab!

  • the last boss looks damn near impossible.... great run man. i've still never beaten it. might need to go find me a copy n try again.

  • i never made it to area 6.... :( maybe cause of that stupid crab!

  • your a blaster master god.

  • I'm gonna write a story script for Blaster Master. All these shitty games are getting chances in movies why not this. A true classic. Any comments and feedback on what you want to see, go and visit my YouTube page and leave me messages.

  • Just some friendly competition from a fellow appreciator of Blaster Master. :)

  • THIS IS MY FAVORITE GAME ON NES ! :)

  • this game is fucking hard. are there any videos of people actually beating this with real skills and not cheats. you cannot damage the boss before his intro is finished

  • looks like wilkes85 already said what i just said

  • after watching how a speed run takes almost an hour and the size of the game, ponder this: it as a NES Rom Cartridge takes up just 256 KB (kilobytes) of data, and probably didnt use up all 256 KB.

  • GOTY !!!

  • How the fuck are you supposed to beat this without cheating!?!?

  • ive masterbated to this game many a times

  • you know what....being a part of the new generation, i didnt get the chance to play these amazing games, hell i didnt know Blaster Master until i played super mario crossover (check it out)....u that grew up these game are truly pro gamers. It pisses me off when you see a game review that says the game is frustrating because of the controls of sum bull....man up and play, thats the way u guys did it, hell i will take a NES or SNES over a PS3 or 360 any fucking day of the week...TO HELL WITH EM

  • @ImMrBoiNk you've given me hope for the new generation

  • Are you using a turbo controller?

  • Great game, great memories

  • As a kid, I referred to the "Russian music" of Area 7 :)

  • this game seems like a huge maze. i cant imagine how you could memorize it well enough to do a speed run. nice job.

  • Just think about it. This entire game... 256KB, that's a LOT less than one MP3.

  • @wilkes85 wow.. i didnt know that.. insanely smal game :O

  • @superkeenenbell you are right, howover if you get an item like hyper shot (given from 1st boss) and re-start your NES or Emulator you will start at the begnning with the weapons you win before turn-off.

  • Does the area 8 music reminds anyone else of the metroid elevator music?

  • @zzyzx0788 yeah, i see what ya mean.

  • To think he did this to find his poor little frog...

  • goto explodingrabbit (dot) com. then goto super mario bros. crossover. you will not be dissapoint.

  • 53:09 last boss 0 left. shit just got real.

  • 2:28 metroids?

  • are you able to save?

  • @carnavis619 nope

  • One of the best games ever made for sure...

  • is dat person a guy or a girl?

  • @Beta7847 guy

  • I remember playing this 4 ages and completed about 1/10th of what you've done....same with megaman - i failed at these as a kid.

  • You know it's not really fair to call this a speed run when you exploit the grenade glitch.

  • A GREAT game nicely played! I have played literally hundreds of games and this is still one of my very favorites. Played it dozens of times, but only finished it a handful That damn crab at the end of stage 5 usually got me. Thanks for the enjoyable post.

  • "This is the best NES game ever!" Says my opinion.

  • to beat this game you need the NES max controller with the rapid fire. it's next to impossible otherwise.

  • the most rare game of all times

  • Lots of enemies stolen from Metroid...

  • at 01:02

the things underwater are looking like metroids?!

  • Few things I noticed about this game. 1. The sound is WAY too loud. It drowns out the sound effects, and 2, the top down view is just like Fester's Quest. Good game still. Very challenging.

  • @jupiter0225 Festers Quest was based on Blaster Master.

  • the effort at 50:30 is uncanny lol cracked me up...good vid, love this game..

  • I used to play this game alot too when i was a child... I stil remember how difficult it sometimes was to find the entrances to the next level... back then, you didin't have internet to look it all up so you had to do it all on yourself :-/.

  • @mulder1979

well said, I feel the same way, spent a a lot of time with friends for the door to the next zone. I think finding zone 4 was the toughest. Like you said, no internet, and we didn't have a Nintendo power magazine with a map like some did back in the day.

  • @mulder1979 No you can ask your dad or mom :D

  • @mulder1979 I know! You had to fukn get Game Genie to cheat! Video games were much more challenging back in the day...

  • @mulder1979 I never used the internet to look up how to do something in a video game. Thats a choice you made yourself

  • Thats where I herd this music from! AVGN plays this song sometimes in his videos

  • I love the fact this game is on Wii now, i can pause it whenever I want and go back to the same spot a month later, its great.

  • 54:10 dumbest boss ever?

  • GREAT VIDEO!

I love Blaster Master.. Oh yeah..

When my cartridge went missing, I bought the cartridge on eBay.

Recorded a run-through years ago on VHS.

But, the best proof I love the game: world 5's theme music has been my cellphone's ringtone for the last 3 years. I hear the swimming-water theme everyday!! :)

Something else: load the MIDI into a sequencer and print it out as sheet music and learn it. hahaha.. yeah I've done that too. :P

  • @NemoNint record a speedrun, but make it more interesting to watch than this one.. Id consider that, but Id gameover in 8 :)

  • What a particularly cheap endboss...

  • Dat turbo

  • @Nealikus try english, faggot.

  • I like this game alot. Got it in 1989ish and was able to beat it in around two hours (i think). I tried to convince alot of friends that this game was awesome, but nobody really thought so for some reason.

  • Metroid can suck it. BM is where the true skill in action/rts/rpg comes in

  • the think i love about NES is the final level music, no matter the enemies no matter the obstacles... you god damn knew this was the last level...

  • childhood awesomeness ^^

  • oh my gosh... my dad had this game so long ago when I was little... I never understood a thing that was going on but I enjoyed watching him play a lot. I used to call it the "bike game" for some reason

  • This game came to mind and thank god I found it on youtube. Hadn't played the since 94'.

  • Ha, that's awesome that the video code has O_o in it. Also, this is a great game.

  • Nice game! Nice playing, too... :)

  • Really Cool. I remember beating what I thought was the last boss, tossed my controller down and raising my arms up in victory only to have the real last boss come out and kill me! But I got my revenge and beat the game a couple of days later... I love the music in level 7, I referred to that as the "Mexican Heavy Metal Level"

  • the music is kick-butt.

  • qkPSDBlLO_o

Was this putn in there for a REASON Or was it just pure luck.

I mean the O_o In link.,

    Check it out yourself...

  • I had so much difficulty beating this game, but I still remember it as clear as day! Thanks for uploading, it's great to see the whole thing!

  • omg, thank you so much. i just thought about this randomly tonight, looked for it, and here it was! great memories, man...even the book based on the video game was pretty darn cool...

  • this game haunts me to this day; never got to finish the damn thing!

  • I used to love this game as a kid! Thanks for making this vid, brings back some great memories! I wish I still had my NES, and this game.

  • so...fucking...nostaligic...OMFG

  • 5th boss is epicly hard.

  • I'd like to leave one more comment if you don't mind. I just finished playing BM again and used your walkthrough as a guide with PC on 1 side and TV/NES on the other side. As said before, everything in your video looks identical to the nes that I'm using, but wanted to let you know that I thank you for this video. By using it I just got further in the game then I ever have in the almost 20 years of playing. So thanks again!! I mostly died by wasting time going the wrong way before.

  • I have played this game for years and based on what I saw there is no evidence of cheating that I can see. 1st let me say that you did a great job in finishing the game. 2nd I feel that it is one of the hardest games to complete because of the size of the levels with useless areas. Lastly, games that are this hard to complete make you feel good when you win, but the endings always leave something out, like maybe giving you a code to get your money back. LOL. Worst ending ever was JP on Gen. GJ!

  • The end of the video ID is O_o

    Win.

  • спс

  • I love this game, but it has one big flaw; the levels are relatively big and there's no real incentive to explore them. The game's large levels have really no purpose other than just milling around finding cheap power-ups and searching for the boss's lair.

  • Looking back at it, I can't remember why I had so much trouble with 3rd boss as a kid, but I know exactly why I had trouble with the 5th boss again.

  • love this game the most I think, it looks a little like rygar for some reason to me

  • Who ever said this guy ain't cheating is a dumb ass! This video pisses me off! Ur a disgrace to the legendary game! I beat this shit without cheating when I was little! I didn't use the grenade pause trick! This video should be deleted!

  • my lost child hood game x(

  • DOes this game remind you a lot of Blaster Master?

  • I Remember this game This Game Was Fun on The NES In the old days

  • man of all the videos ive seen on youtube this has to be my favorite, i fucking grew up playing this game man! i feel like i want to cry! hahaha.

  • Comment removed

  • The music from Area 4 is the creepiest music I have ever heard in my life, including all horror films. The idea that you were stuck in this sewer with this stains everywhere and these creepy mutants and machines, cemented by the soundtrack was enough to be freakishly delicious. Thank you so much.

  • is it just me or does this look like an snes game
