Johnny Ramone created they punk guitar styles of playing, granted they did borrow from other bands also but the ramones were one of the first bands to play as fast and loud as they did, they opened the door to shit loads of other bands, black flag DK's etc.

The Unseen are so flippen good. Anyone who says they sold out is an idiot. They are still on an indie label, they still play at 100 miles a minute, and still have the same subject matter in there songs. Just cause they make some videos now, who cares. The band has been together well over 10 years, at there ages im sure they don't wanna spend there the rest of there career playing in empty pubs anyone who plays music wants to make some sort of living out of it.

The first LP was the best. It makes me sound stupid but I like simple lyrics. My mind has been deluted with hate I love that shit though. It is ironic as punks tried to stray from the hippies and now they are mediocre and sound like angry hippies. Oh well life changes I did so I can't judge.

Then they go on about Anarchy and smashing the state, of course 3 weeks later they're shooting their commercial for Rock The Vote.
To label this band and any band like it Punk is a huge middle finger to any real Punk band.

Also it's very relevant to your original point there. Also I agree with you on The Unseen and other pop punk bands like Anti-Flag. I only like their music, but I'd rather take a band like Crass and /A/Political a bit more seriously.
