There's an alternative version of this song where Gotye sings the chorus out loud (like the chorus of Somebody That I Used To Know). That version was a hit single in Belgium and the Netherlands, and it's much much better than this one.

I really don't understand all the fuss about Wally being either Belgian or Australian. Almost the whole australian population is made up from fairly recent import, what's the problem?

Wally is more at ease when he can speak English. Though he still speaks Flemish very well, he can't speak it as fast and fluently as English. So he's a Belgian-born Australian.

You argument is also based on personal opinion. It is a semantic discussion, there is no definition of any of these terms. So there is no way you can convince me, and I don't want to convince you. You can call it Australian music, I call it international pop music. When I call something local it really has to be local, like some folk music

@musiqueroyale There is a lot of brass and percussion... the vocals are recorded in mono... thats what gives its aged sound... most songs don't use a variety of instruments anymore, typically just drums guitar and snyths... you will notice that 60's and 70 was heavy on woodwinds and stringed instruments.
