  • I get a happy feeling :D

  • This song makes me think of Genesis, then again also Peter Gabriel! Still pretty fabulous in its own right however - Brilliant stuff man, I WANT MORE!!!!

  • It's been done before

    C'mon, do it again

    'coz if it's good

Then you should share it round

    What's the use of keeping

All the good things that you've found to yourself?

So I am telling anybody that will listen about Gotye!!!

  • thats some epic dora the explorer right there.

  • Good stuff! He reminds me of Peter Gabriel.

  • There's an alternative version of this song where Gotye sings the chorus out loud (like the chorus of Somebody That I Used To Know). That version was a hit single in Belgium and the Netherlands, and it's much much better than this one.

Here it is, check it out: watch?v=7RJjmJ2Zh9U

  • He sounds like Michael Hutchence in this song. It's UNCANNY!

  • I've yet to hear a Gotye song I dislike. At this rate, I am starting to doubt I will.

  • Yeah Wouter! Al jaren fan dankzij stubru waar ze tenminste wel eens goeie nummers draaien..

    Keep on the good work!

  • 1:33 what the hell is wrong with in this picture ? cruel...

  • @MrMeDIAMENTor

    give away love

    GIVE IT!

  • @MrMeDIAMENTor Looks like a man giving it to a camel doggy style.

  • I just loooove Gotye :D

    Song is brilliant :D

  • I dont give a damn what nationality he is or where he grew up I think he is simply brilliant and life has long for music like his a very long time. I absolutely love this song !

  • this is the best thing evaaar

  • gotye has awsome video clips!! love it!! :D

  • @Doulton84 HAHAHA, dear Lord. First off, yes. I'm Canadian. Second off, oh my most sincere apologies, divine one. I did not mean to interfere with your perfectly structured argument, defending your *obviously* perfect opinion.

    Fuck, you're a loser.

  • Phil Collins does soul

  • I really don't understand all the fuss about Wally being either Belgian or Australian. Almost the whole australian population is made up from fairly recent import, what's the problem?

Wally is more at ease when he can speak English. Though he still speaks Flemish very well, he can't speak it as fast and fluently as English. So he's a Belgian-born Australian.

  • @Doulton84 you should listen too Selah Sue and Milow. They lived there entire live in Belgium, but I would not be able to say that this is Belgian music unless I was told, and I am from Belgium. Music is very international these days. I find it nationalistic and narrow minded to put it in small boxes of nationality.

  • i always thought this was an classic, but a few days i discovered that its a song from gotye, now i love him even more !

  • He has a Phil Collins / Genesis sound me like!!!

  • @Doulton84 You do realize you're fighting about probably the most pathetic thing ever, right? You aren't even arguing about the actual song, like a normal attention seeker would. No, instead you fight about wether a song's Australian or not?

    Seriously dude, you're a tool.

  • @Doulton84 I don't call it Belgian music but some do, in fact Gotye is nominated for the Music industry awards in Belgium, an award celebrating Belgian music. You argument is also based on personal opinion. It is a semantic discussion, there is no definition of any of these terms. So there is no way you can convince me, and I don't want to convince you. You can call it Australian music, I call it international pop music. When I call something local it really has to be local, like some folk music

  • @Doulton84 I am a daredevil. This is International music, in no way limited to Australia, not in style, influences or anything else. It was made in Australia but it is no australian music for me. And this is a semantic discussion, so I will not continue.

  • @Doulton84 Whatever, I don't agree but this subject is not worth a longer discussion. The most important thing is that this song is amazing. And I love it.

  • This song is Awesome!!! :) It just totally lifts you up

  • Ha :)

the year one's at my school performed this song for assembly

    It was pretty cute :)

  • beautiful!!!

  • Sounds a bit like Sting, eh?

  • @peterarkesteijn sounds like 'love is the seventh wave'

  • Doesn't sound like gotye but its AWESOME

  • who knew this song before somebody that i used to know and realised it was thesame guy?

  • @devidia Me!

  • @devidia yup me

  • gotye is the best . <3

  • sembra Peter Gabriel dalla voce

  • It's like Sting and Beck time traveled back into the Motown days and had babies...

  • like other songs better than this one. can not say i like it sorry

  • it's just sooooo catchy!

  • i learnt a little just by listening

  • Aussie, Represent!!!

  • @booey539 he has 2 nationalities, he's australian and belgian (born in belgium and emigrated to australia)

  • yeah he is belgian but moved to aus when he was 2 and yes he still can speak dutch :):):):)

  • One of my favourites of his... such a feel good song!

  • @enkephalinish yes your right !

i'm from Belgium , but for this song nobody claimed he was from Belgium. Liked this song very much and they nevered mentioned it on the radio he was from Belgium

  • @tibootje2000 They did. Atleast I heard them mention it. And this song is even on the Belpop CD's :D

  • AS IF THIS IS GOTYE hahahaha I never knew!!!

  • Great Aussie music :)

  • It's way better live.

  • Where were all you Belgians, trying to claim Gotye, when this song was released 5 years ago?

    Great Australian music!

  • @enkephalinish : I'm from Belgium and i totally agree. He was born in Belgium and stayed here untill he was 2. I think he himself feels more Australian than Belgium. Don't even know if he can speak Dutch?

  • @enkephalinish

He was on a Belgian show. Watch "Gotye on Peter Live".

But wherever he's from, he's great.

  • @enkephalinish listening to it on the radio !! (:

  • @enkephalinish Great Aussi/Belgian music.

  • @enkephalinish This is no Australian music, it is international music made by a Belgian in Australia. I don't claim Gotye, nobody should. I am just proud about the fact that he was born in my country, that makes it easy to relate to him. I don't see why that is wrong.

  • @Napoleon501ste he is not really a belgium if he was only there since 2 years old, when he talks he has NO accent so its a bit hard to call him a belgium, he wasn't educated there or anything

  • That kid has great karma

  • belgium pride :)

  • lol this song had me with a smile on ma face the whole time i was listning to it haha

  • It sound like thousand years old.

If it was I would love it for another thousand.

  • we are watching a musical legend being born right now.

  • FUCKING PROUD TO BE BELGIAN <3

  • One of my fave songs...no strings attached, just don't ask for it back !

  • It says this was released in Europe three years ago. How'd I miss that?

  • Watch as I single handedly raise the views to 1,000,000.....

  • the shouting part is in the US release though ...

  • I love this song. It always puts me in a good mood!

  • Where is the shouty bit chorus?? seems to be missing from this mix!!! or is it just my speakers!

  • @dbcooper77 thats only in the live version :) which i personally think is better and when he shouts it just makes the song that much better :D

  • This song came on at work and I thought it was a motown hit

  • Love love love LOVE! This song is Brilliant!

  • everyone has there drunk song THIS IS MINE!! LEARN A LITTLE GIVVVAAAAAAAAANNN!!!!

  • Great Song!

  • love this tune- its currently helping me though a bad patch

  • @veryvickers a bad patch of mushrooms.. oo really have to watch out for those, i bet some nice music helps.

  • @indyvidualism

    hehe good one :)

  • Geweldig liedje !!

  • 4 day camping and this song made me dance every morning. lol. Great song.

  • Hah makes me really happy. Don't you think it sounds really old? Like a classic. Yet it's really pretty damn new! haha

  • @musiqueroyale There is a lot of brass and percussion... the vocals are recorded in mono... thats what gives its aged sound... most songs don't use a variety of instruments anymore, typically just drums guitar and snyths... you will notice that 60's and 70 was heavy on woodwinds and stringed instruments.

  • Lovely!

Belgian (Dutch-speaking) Radio 1 airs this song all the time :)

  • Echt ofwat?

  • Certainly, zo heb ik het leren kennen :)

  • Ale dn, kheb het zelf daarop ng nooit ghoord. Maarjah, ik heb vrienden die goeie muziek luistrn die mij dat doorgeven :)
