@ljtwins97 you can leave it on for 15 to 30 minutes and then wash it out. I dont think you need to wash it twice - just concentrate the shampoo on the ends.
I completely disagree with trimming split ends to promote growth. You see, that's somehow became an obvious solution for healthy hair and it's not. In fact, trimming your hair would just remove the thinnest part, living younger and thicker layer. For me, if I want to grow the length, I trim very rarely, like once in half a year and only to keep the even length. I noticed splitting has three major causes: diet, stress level and the products you are putting on your scalp.
@PR0H0LDEM that's fine, you can disagree :) but this has been my personal experience for over the last 7 years as well as the experience of a number of women whose hair I love and is in great shape, in addition to my stylist. My hair has grown soooo fast using this method and is in better shape then ever. Perhaps we can agree to disagree on this.
@BerlinHairBaby thank you, you are right, it was just my personal opinion. I think it's a great way to keep hair healthy and looking great, however it didn't work for me when I tried to grow the actual length, because I was chopping off all that grown in month:( Thank you for replying, I just love your channel and I think your hair is fantastic:)
@musicmanlwv I agree with you, it works with my mom but she has a short bob haircut, so she can afford herself a vitamin deficient diet, high stress level, sodium shampoos, etc, because she is trimming every 6-8 weeks. I have long, natural hair, just trimming won't make it better for me, except making it shorter. With proper hair care and healthy lifestyle, no smoking, exercising, etc, based on my own experience, it WILL do the job and would save some money for 6-8 weeks trip to the hairstylist.
Hey BerlinHairBaby, great tips. I love the olive oil ideaI probably would have put it on my entire head instead of just ends -- thanks! I get my hair trimmed, colored & highlighted every 6 weeks. Lately I've been having her dust the ends because I'm trying to let it grow. I was having it cut this week and went for more. I've been bad about wearing my hat outdoors and it's parched. I think you color yours at home and mine doesn't look half as good as yours!
thank you for those tips! :)) but I have a question: do you wash your hair with shampoo before putting in the oil mask and just rinse the oil out the next day? or do you just wash it with shampoo the next day? thanks xx
@DonnaDiiva I put the olive oil on my non washed hair the night before I'm planning to shampoo it. so it gets an overnight moisture session and then I wash the next day. xx
@Luluhurricane that made me laugh :-) I apply to my ends everyday or every other day - so it works for well me. why dont you start out every other day and see where that gets you? xx
@hisgermansunshine exactly - your hair has to be of a certain length:) on my website i have a post called "beautiful hair when you're broke" and it covers a lot of my favorite masks. I cant link it here unfortunately b/c youtube wont let me
