Have to say a lot of the problem is that Pollies wouldn't explain anything to their voters, even if they fully understood it themselves. The upshot is that the pro lobby gets its way by default, particularly when it seems that they can arbitarily change the rules to suit themselves - since when has this been legitimate, let alone democratic?
The UK should disinvest in the EU altogether, IMHO, and let the Eurozone folks sort it out between themselves.

Our prayers are with you. Here in ths U.S. we too are fighting for liberty. Beware of vote fraud, as we have seen a great deal of it here by the elites who want to silence the will of the people. Good luck Eire - Get the truth about oppression and the denial of democracy that is the centralised EU to enough people to vote NO & regain your liberty.
Membership of the EU has been a catastrophy for Eire raising hopes and provided a brief boom just to be used as a bribe to dupe the British. The EU now has little more chance of feeding iteslf without import than Eire had in the hungry 40s. The wars of disassociation are coming sooner rather than later and will be hideous - Vote NO leave NOW.

I think the framers of the EU treaties should be forced to write them down in such a way so the common man can understand the words and the effect of the treaty. Then the political classes wouldn't be able to resort to that hideous argument that "the public are incapable and too stupid to have a say on the matter". But that's only one point that this excellent video gives rise to.

Funny, a free market that entails so much bureaucracy that small business owners are more in trouble by the day!! Let's not forget the omnipotence of the European Central Bank, not subject to any legal binding. WOW! Now why so many so-called 'socialdemocrats' signed this treaty? Nor should be the 'conservatives', for that matter. We are ruled by a bunch of idiots/sociopaths (note how the militarisation of the EU is afoot; Ukraine can't join EU unless they join NATO.)

Conservatives should not vote for this either, but at least the policies they support and enact are somewhat inline with the supply-side economic interests they openly defend.
On the other hand the 'social democrats' these days are no less than wolves in sheep's clothing.
Still i get the impression there's more opposition to this European totalitarianism on the Left then there is on the Right.

Note the terrible laws on EU police forces being able to kill citizens by law under "insurrection and disturbance". Now would a general strike or a public demonstration be considered that? Why are so many nations buying Tasers and increasing their police force? Why will the treaty allow foreign troops in your country? (Well, a local policeman wouldn't hurt his neighbour for no reason.)

well said, jupiterjjrm, a local policeman is a local policeman - one who knows the locality. The illusion that federal policing helps in some way is not roven criminologically. Federal policing is different from police liaison at a European (federal) level. The importance of the latter is attributed to the former.
The local police are best suited to solve crimes efficently and effectively.

Islam is not the problem. They would like you to fear islam so as to pursue their "war on terror" - but it's not as it is portrayed.
I'm not a lover of sharia, but all this bull is to create fear of the "new enemy" (an enemy within, even!!!). It's the best way to control our actions and dissolve our freedom.
The farce will one day become self-evident as did that other farce called the Soviet Union. And this farce won't last even close to the 70 odd years that the Soviet farce lasted.

I agree, but what I meant was, that if we had people like those suicide terrorists, who blow themselves up just to 'support' the Islam, then they could blow themselves up to make a point in this particular problem we have. This problem is more a threat to us than ANY terrorist, that's why I think it's a shame we don't have people like those extremists on our side, I also think that's the main reason that they want to wipe out the Islam, because they don't think and just blow up themselves.

On the other hand, I'm not keen on violence - if anything, it is not strategic. Violence is the last of the very last resorts - and that's in defence towards violence against our persons.
