Actually, I didn't see that much "pulling guard" there. I saw attempted flying guillotines, but those were actually honest attempts at a submission, so I guess that's open for debate.

@Armbar4you Arona beat 8 ppl and subbed 1, Roger Neff via kneebar in absolute division 1st round. Neff is really more of a huge, strong wrestler, but still, the competition that Arona beat was very impressive, including Jon Olav Einemo (ADCC champ and only person to beat Roger Gracie at ADCC), Saulo Ribeiro (5x Mundials champ, 2x ADCC champ), and Jean Jacques Machado (ADCC champ, Brazilian Nat'l champ 10 years straight). Arona is too defensive to be exciting, but he is very good at what he does.

but I got armbars from guard

the guy escaped and I lost by one point

I think they penalized him for the 2 times he pulled guard. It's a questionable rule tho, because both times he did it, it was an attempt for a sub. Almeida should have won, he was pushing the pace and attacking. All Arona did was play defense.
