@AuroraMoonWolf wow. wtf? That guy MUST have had anger issues! Man, I guess I empathize too much with servers. Whenever I go out to eat and something's wrong with the food, my friends are all "Oh man, let's complain" but I say, "Now now, it's not a big deal. They probably had a long day." Then I usually leave a big tip. lol. i don't know why. I feel kind of guilty getting mad because something's wrong with my order. I just feel . . . selfish. I guess that's why I hardly eat out.
I also feel guilty. I always say it's not worth it. When I was working at Wendy's, I didn't mind complaints, as long as it was done respectfully. I always wanted to help the customer any way I could, if they were being kind and respectful, I would happily replace their order. Of course, I would do the same if the person wasn't being kind, but I wouldn't be happy about it. It's just better to be positive, because negativity tends to breed more negativity.
Haha, the most 'memorable' time was when I was at Wendy's and a customer was angry because the burger didn't look EXACTLY like the one on TV! I can laugh about it now. I think the guy might have had anger management issues. Thanks for watching!
I am from the US and I feel that your experience where they added the tip on the bill must depend on the state. Everywhere I have been only add the tip on if your bill if your party was larger. They even have that warning on the menu. I agree, I reserve the right tip and choose how much I should tip. I usually leave a tip unless the server was horrible. People need to realize these servers earn less than min wage and depend on these tips to survive.
I do realize servers are paid min wage usually, but I've held several jobs where I was making min and never got anything extra, there were times when I couldn't afford groceries. I think that if a person really depends on tips, they should at least be deserving of it - if I were in the position of receiving tips, I would go above and beyond. However, I know that there are a LOT of great servers out there and that awful servers are the exception to the rule. Thanks for watching!
@AuroraMoonWolf - i dont know how it works outside of the USA but here servers do not make minium wage. they get paid anywhere from $2.81 to $3.50! tips are their MAIN source of income. serving is a tough job and i dont think servers get enough appreciation. alos they get no benefits either. =/
Up here in Canada, it is illegal to pay someone less than minimum wage, and that is before tips. To be honest, I will not tip someone just because they don't get paid much. I give a tip based on the service I receive. That said, I usually receive good service and I tip well. But there have been times when servers have been rude to me, or completely messed up the order. I believe a person should earn the tips. Thank you for watching and commenting!
