animation is stop motion. the only difference is that nightmare before christmas is not drawn. to be honest, the things farthest from true animation on that list are the pixar films because they're digital and not stop motion. i'm not saying that they aren't animation, just that they don't fall under the original definition of animation.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is not an animated movie. It's Stop-Motion.
Caste in the Sky is amazing.
Spirited Away is eh.
Princess Mononoke is redonk amazing.
The Iron Giant is SO FUCKING AMAZING.
Ratatouille is I think the best animated movie of all time.
The Lion King is Hamlet.

I'm pretty sure stop-motion is a form of animation. Like, claymation... It's stop-motion and it has "mation" right in the name of it!
