I can also tell you that I have never worked a union job and I have never been treated like you say. Mainly because I am a hard worker that employers want to keep. We recently lost 1900 jobs at the Union city TN Goodyear plant thanks to the union. Unions have made some good contributions but their powers are overreaching now.

There is a correlation between SAT/ACT scores and strong teachers' unions, so it doesn't make sense to say that teachers' unions are harming our children's future. Besides, the protesters are not just teachers. They're also policemen, firefighters, and other first responders. All these people want are fair wages and decent benefits, including decent health care coverage. Is that really too much to ask?

Meanwhile, New York, New Jersey, Alaska, Hawaii, and Michigan have union memberships of 20 percent or higher. Not that it matters, because th majority of states are insolvent anyways.
