  • A great posting, and thank you for doing this. But I have to ask... does anyone have a copy of the BEGINNING of these episodes? Where he shows up at their door (..." where do I sleep, you know I can sleep a'hanging from a nail" & the famous "You mean it's in the HOUSE" quotes).

If anyone can send a link, that would be fabulous. Many thanks again, Sandune, for posting this, it was wonderful. Long live Lucy!

  • hi have a feeling tennessee ernie ford would have made a very good actor

  • Lucy + Dark Wigs = Hotness.

  • Thumbs up if, like me, you were born in the 80s or later, but still find this hilarious.

  • @Vamphaery Actually older shows are funnier than modern shows. I cannot name one sitcom these days that I find funny. The classics are timeless and have no age limit.

  • I needed the laugh today. This was one of my favorites from I Love Lucy.

  • I Like when Ernie sleeps in the folded up bed XD he doesn't know how to do anything

  • The episodes w/Tennessee Ernie Ford is hilarious & he is hilarious

  • The ole pea picker, Cousin Ern being vamped by a wicked city woman. This was how people from Tennessee were viewed by people from New York in the 1950's

  • Maybe it's just me, doesn't ernie look like Steve Harvey, only white?

  • My favourite <3

  • All time favorite!

  • LOL. Never saw this one. Love the way Ernie turned the tables on Lucy. Great singer and pretty good at comedy too!!

  • Love to see the part where Ernie sings "Wabash Cannonball" at 6 something in the morning, & his "Yeeeehaw" sets Ricky & Lucy straight up out of bed. Lucy admonished him for the time, & Ernie said, "You're right-I'm plumb ashamed of mahself." Lucy said, "Well, you should be." Ernie says, "I haven't overslept like that in my life!" I taped the clip years ago, but it's buried deep somewhere in my VHS tape collection that needs desperately going through!

  • Hilarious! Thanks for posting such a great comedy routine!

  • These 2 are soooo funny ........"Have Mercy."

  • Timeless comedy!!!!

  • "Wicked City Woman" - Priceless and timeless!

  • Wicked and talented. Who could ask for anything more!

    Thanks for watching Golfman!

  • I like it!!!HAHAHAHAHA

  • Ernie Fords best song was "Sing me now of Christmas".

  • I liked this episode but there seems something very sexual or shall I say erotic about what Lucy was doing to him. Do you agree? Also has any other TV show done a scene similar to the vamping on this Lucy episode? I would like to know for both. Thanks!

  • You must not watch any tv shows lately. The walk was done by other women trying to be "funny" and there was a girl in my high school in the early 1970's that walked almost this way. One of my friends would walk behind her and copy her and it was SO funny! I know darn well she didn't walk that way normally because I'd known her since first grade and she didn't walk that way until high school!

Vamping by rubbing someone's hair? Never tried it or seen it before. Pretty tame stuff I'd say!

  • So you never tried it. But would you? On who?

  • I vamped my husband about 32 years ago but didn't use this technique! Sorry.

  • So What technique did you use to vamp him? I would not mind women vamping me, like in this clip. Any takers?

  • well ill be ding donged ,lol classic stuff!

  • This was hilarious! "Vamp me!"

  • i loved this scene!! i was playing this episode and my dad started laughing so hard when he saw lucy with ernie. :D

  • Ernie was a hoot and beautiful singer.

His son Jeffrey "Buck" Ford just wrote a book about his mom and dad. Buck and his wife Murphy are wonderful people. Book could be a great read!

  • what's great is that in real life he had the most beautiful singing voice! and of course didn't talk like that. :)

  • Very true.

  • you got quite a hitch in your getalong! lol

  • yay for cousin ernie ford from tennessee.

  • This is classic! "Where you at you little heifer?" LOL!

  • Thanks for posting this. This is one of the funniest I Love Lucy episodes ever!!

  • the 1950s kicked pettute

  • My favorite Lucy episodes are the ones Ernie was on.

  • @churley77 One of my favorites was the ones w/Ernie in them. I have a lot of favorite episodes i can't choose a #1 favorite

  • Tennessee Ernie Ford was great, alright. But he was known for his singing and personality. He was one of the most humorous hosts on TV on the Ford Show. He recorded numerous songs; mostly gospel.

  • Thank you for the nice comment re: Ernie Ford. From what I understand, he was a very nice man with a genuine connection to others. His son and daughter in law have become good friends and meaningful contributors to our studio.

We recently produced a 50th Navy tribute for the Tennessee Ernie Ford Enterprises which was one of the more rewarding experiences I had in 2007.

    Thanks again!

  • Yes indeed!

  • Lucy was so damn stupid...OMG I loved her I wish we still had stuff like this now I must subsist on re-runs in order to get a real laugh >:-(

  • Lucy was engaging. In her unique slap-stick carried an impression that still remains, quite unique.

  • Tennessee Ernie is so great, He wrote Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Streetcar Named Desire.

  • yeah,maybe that was tennessee williams..eh?
